Most of the week went by, and it's now Thursday, leaving only the rest of today and tomorrow until homecoming on Saturday.

For the past few days, there have been a bunch of hoco proposals or whatever they're called.

A small part of me was hoping at some point this week, Dylan might ask me, but he never did. That didn't surprise me though, especially because of how he's been acting.

So far, he's hardly been talking to me and I have no idea why. I thought we had a good time over the weekend, but clearly he didn't feel the same.

Whenever I tried to start a conversation with him, he was very distant and seemed disinterested.

If I tried to text him, he only wrote back with one word answers. None of this is like him so I'm confused.

Hopefully, nothing's wrong and he's doing alright.

Class is almost over and I'm tapping my foot on the floor just waiting for the bell. It finally rings and I jump up from my seat and hurry to my locker.

Today was too damn long for my liking.

I'm almost at my locker when Krista and Carlos run up to me.

Krista greets me happily then Carlos says, "Hey bitchhh" and takes a sip of a venti Starbucks iced latte.

Despite my previous thoughts about Dylan, I can't help but laugh at Carlos. I can always count on these two to make me feel better.

"What's poppin Marinara sauce? Got any tea to spill? Classes were boring today and I want something to talk about?" Krista asks me eagerly

"Well kind of, but it's not that important"

"AHH spill it sister" Carlos exclaims

"Alright well... it's about Dylan. You know how we went out this weekend right?"

"Yeah" they say in unison

I continue, "Well, I'm confused, because he was so sweet to me and we had a really great time but now this week he's being so distant.

I have no idea what happened. Every time I talk to him or try to text him, it's like he doesn't want to talk."

"That asshole I'll teach him a lesson for hurting my girl" Krista states getting angry, but I put my hand on her shoulder and say "No please don't, it's ok. I'm sure something came up and it's not a big deal."

"Girl if he pulls some shit I don't care what you say, I'll go after him too, but until you say so, I won't attack him. However, I ain't playin nice anymore. If that little bitch even looks at me, he's getting the death glare and some sass" Carlos says snapping his fingers and jerking his head, which makes both Krista and I laugh.

"Hey let's drop the subject, what are we doing this weekend? Carlos is your mom still ok with us coming over to get ready for homecoming and take pictures?" I ask

"Yes ma'am and she's making us her famous spaghetti and meatballs!"

"SCORE" Krista yells earning glares from other kids around us

"Oh and Matthew told me that he'll be with his girlfriend, so he'll meet up with us at the dance" Carlos says

"Ah ok" I say closing my locker

We begin to walk toward the doors and Krista asks "So what are y'all up to now? Wanna grab a slice of pizza before we go home?"

"Yeah, why not" I say smiling and Carlos also nods in agreement

As we walk out, Carlos tells us about some guy he met online.

They were trying to meet up, but he found out the guy has a stuffed animal collection, so he freaked out and ghosted him.

Krista and I were laughing the whole time, but once we step outside, our laughter is overpowered by the sound of "22" by Taylor Swift from around the corner of the school.

What could that be?

"What do you guys think that is?" I ask the other two

They seem just as confused as me, and Krista says "let's go check it out"

We walk around the corner of the school and there's a huge circle of people. We can't see through it, so we push to the front.

Standing in the middle of the circle is Dylan with a box of donuts and a poster that says: I Donut Want To Go With Anyone But You... Homecoming?

In front of him is one of Missy's minions with an all too confident look on her face.

I'm standing there with my mouth open and even as the circle of people begins to break apart, I still can't find it in me to move my body.

I continue to watch, staring at Dylan's face for any emotion or sign that he's not happy, but his expression is unreadable.

Just then, he looks over and holds my gaze for a few seconds. Missy's little bitch runs up to him and hugs him, and he turns his attention back to her.

I feel the tears building in my eyes and before anyone can see me cry, I turn and speed walk out of there.

I can hear Krista and Carlos shuffling behind me and calling my name, but I was absolutely not going to turn around.

I get to my car, hop in, and speed away from the school, causing the tires to screech on the pavement. A few kids on the sidewalk and a crossing guard jump in surprise.

Usually, I'm not so reckless, but right now I didn't give a shit
