Dylan's POV

After seeing Marina and getting to talk to her again, I instantly felt better.

I really think I was beginning to fall for her and when she decided to help me with my injuries and offered me a spot in her friend group, out of the kindness of her heart it made my heart flutter.

There was no reason for her to help, especially since so much time went by where we were hardly talked, but she did anyway.

Today's the day that I officially meet Marina's friends. She told me we would be meeting at some pizza place down the road that they go to all the time.

I really hope I get along well with her friends, because they seem like really cool people, but more importantly, I want more time around Marina.

The school day was really slow and kept dragging on, but I guess I felt that way in part because I wanted to see Marina at the end of the day.

Once the last bell rings, I quickly walk out of the class to my car thinking about what I'm going to say to her friends once I get there.

How will I hold a conversation? I need to come across as a good guy and make sure my past stays a secret.

I get in my car, drive to the location and walk inside.

I see the group in the back of the restaurant laughing and talking, which surprises me. It's been a while since I've been around a good group of people.

Well... here goes nothing.

I walk up to the table and all eyes turn to me

Marina's POV

Krista, Matthew, Carlos and I get to the restaurant before Dylan and we're laughing about that one halloween where Carlos stole a bowl of candy from one of the houses, and tried to run away with it, but fell and twisted his ankle.

Just then, Dylan comes through the door and I could tell he was unsure of himself.

As he walked up to the table we all turned to look at him.

"Hey guys...I know there may have been some previous rumors and stories about me, but most of them aren't true and I promise I'm not what you think and if you want to know anything, I'll answer you. I want to be honest, because you guys seem like such a fun and down to earth group, and you don't find that much anymore. If you don't like me after today and never wanna talk to me again, I completely understand. I don't want to intrude on you guys."

Dylan gets quiet as he finishes his statement, and all eyes are still on him.

I can't help but smile to myself, because I know he was genuine. My friends would not be able to say no to that.

"Come sit with us Dylan" Carlos states pointing to the seat next to me. Dylan lets out a loud sigh of relief and we all chuckle.

After a while of talking, we found out Dylan has at least one thing in common with everyone in the group.

Matthew and Dylan both love hip hop, Krista and Dylan are huge baseball fans, and Carlos and Dylan have the exact same humor.

Watching them go back and forth making jokes and laughing for almost ten minutes made me extremely happy.

"HOLY SHIT! I totally forgot you guys!" Carlos pulls out his phone and shows us a post from Missy's instagram.
