I slid down my palm, because I was sleepy.
I had two more classes till it would get over. Today, we had a cricket match. It was more of a face off. The rival team was St. Xavier's. It was one of the most competitive school I had ever seen. In every tournament it's either us or them. In the past three years, since Darshan's entry, there has always been a close proximity.
This time though, there is no Darshan. Coach denied to let him play because of his conditions.
As soon as the bell rang, I literally jumped out of my place, but stumbled upon someone's feet.
Then somebody placed a hand over my mouth and dragged me to a corner. The match was to begin now, but it would take some time to get to the main point. So, major of the students went now while some others stayed back.
“You little bitch”, I heard someone hiss. I was shoved towards the wall and the group of girls surrounded me.
“Remember one thing... Darshan is only mine... You can't come in between and be a little puppy lost in his love and all that bullshit... Or else I won't think twice before putting your hair to fire”, she growls.
“You know what... I love my hair unlike your fake extensions and eyelashes... And so does Darshan. I would like to save my hair as much as I would like to save Darshan from a bitchy hands as yours”, I spat at her.
She looked angry as she shot daggers in my way.
“You pathetic little.. ”, she stopped midway to find words and I swear, she couldn't find one.
“Well well... Before you claim to be his lover, I want to ask a simple question. Do you know his surname?”, I raised my brows at her.
She pursed her lips into a thin line.
“Do you know his favorite color?”
“Do you know his favorite food?”
“Does that even matter? The thing is... I want Darshan and that's it”, she spat as she went away.
So pathetic.
I suppress a laugh and go out.
The ground is not as busy as it used to be.
Because, due to Darshan's absence in the team, every one thought that there was no point in watching the match altogether. There were not much of his fans today but people who watched cricket in general.
It hurt a little, considering it was my little brother's first match.
I took a seat in the front row with my friends.
I waved at Rudra as soon as he came to the ground. He just smiled at me. I might be one of the crowd and I might blend in... But he can't.
The opposition chose to bat first on winning the toss.
Ughh... I hope it better goes well.
The first pair itself played non-stop and were a close to half century.
It's getting difficult.
By this over, Rudra came in to bowl.
I had my fingers crossed.
“Rudra looks like he has practised a lot”, Smriti says from my side. I smile remembering last night when he practically couldn't sleep. It was a big and special match for him.
I watched intently, but... I find Darshan near the players and I smile. He looks at Rudra with intense concentration and focus.
He is sweating hard and looks so into the game. He looks so beautiful when he is at the game.
