My Bully ~ tonick

Ch 5

NICK POV:

It's Saturday morning and I'm just laying in bed zoning out. I couldn't stop thinking about what had just happened at Tony's house. I was brought back to reality by screaming coming from the kitchen. My dad must have already started his drinking. I didn't feel like dealing with any of that today so I got dressed to go out.

Once I was ready, I carefully climbed out of my window and made it to the ground safely. I grabbed my skateboard and skated off to the skate park. When I arrived, I saw Ryland and some of his other friends. I honestly didn't feel like talking so I put my hood up and skated past. Hopefully he didn't see me. I then skated towards a local park. I saw a vacant picnic table near a tree so I went to sit down by it.

I then started thinking about the events in my household this morning. I really hope my mom doesn't get hurt. And with that I sigh and lay my head in my arms on the table.

TONY POV:

Ondreaz had some of his senior friends over that I didn't really like so I decided to go out for a drive. I was just driving around randomly and when I passed the park I saw small figure, head down, sitting at a picnic table. I then realized that it was Nick. I suddenly had a great idea. I quickly ran to the closest gas station and bought a pack of licorice. Strawberry Twizzlers to be exact. Nick and I used to eat so many of these whenever my mom would buy them. I quickly paid and got back to the park as fast as I could.

When I arrived, Nick was still there, in the same position. I parked at a place where he couldn't see me and I walked up behind him. I plopped down next to him, set the Twizzlers on the table, and started rubbing his back. It didn't seem like he was having the best day so I thought maybe I could comfort him a little by that. Soon after I started to comfort him he looked up at me with tears in his eyes. My expression softened a little and I pulled him into a tight hug. It hurts to see him like this. I comfort him a while longer and finally decide to say something...

"Hey... you ok?" I asked him.

"Y-yeah... I'll be fine. I have been through worse. T-thanks for being here..." he replied. I wonder how long he's been here.

"Well... I brought our favorite treat that we used to love eating together as kids." I said. He smiled and laughed a little as he grabbed one. "Are you sure you don't want to talk about it...?"

"Yeah... thanks though T." I smiled when he said that. He used to call me T all the time. I then remembered what I had told him yesterday.

"Hey, so maybe I can take you out for that lunch I mentioned yesterday. Would you be interested?" I asked.

He responded with, "Yeah sure. That'd be fun!" I'm glad he wants to go.

NICK POV:

I never expected that this would happen. I'm glad he stopped for me, how sweet. I really needed someone to comfort me and he was there. It was warm and welcoming while in his arms and he smelt really good too. Not that it really mattered at all... but still hehe...

As he led me to his car, he asked me if there was anywhere in particular that I wanted to go. I said In-n-Out because I had been craving it recently. He laughed and said 'as you wish' like... that's not funny!! In-n-Out is really good!

The ride there was pretty silent so far besides the music playing softly in the background. He finally spoke up and said...

"I noticed you have your skateboard with you... did something happen at the skate park? Because if anyone hurt you, I just want to have a little talk with them..." He said the last part through gritted teeth.
