Recap:

Rose returned from NY and planned to talk to Marshall

Tyler has continued to message Rose

Rose decided she would tell Marshall everything that happened with Tyler while she was gone

A few chapters ago Rose and Marshall became an official couple

-------

I waited quietly for Marshall's reply. Luckily, he didn't seem upset about what had happened, towards me at least. He took my hand and placed it in his lap as a gesture of sympathy.

His voice had the same compassion, "I'm sorry that happened, Tyler seems like a real dick. Don't worry, he won't come here or hurt you any more. Or Noah."

I released a breath that I wasn't aware I was holding in while I waited for his reply. I don't know why I was worried in the first place. Why would he be mad at me in the first place? I didn't kiss Tyler and I didn't ask for Noah to punch me in the face. Now deciding to meet Noah doesn't seem like a good idea. Life was better when I didn't have any siblings. i thought about it for a second and then realized I never had any siblings, that I knew of. My parents adopted me, but not my brother?

"Rose?" Marshall asked, "Are you alright?"

I nodded and moved closer to him on the couch so my body was laying on his. I could feel him playing with my hair. It was still a little damp, but it had curled up again.

"I'm okay." I said barely loud enough for him to be able to hear me. We continued to lay there for several minutes while I laid on him and he played with a string on my hair.

"Do you want to hang out with the girls and me tomorrow night? I know they want to see you." Marshall asked after what seemed like an eternity of silence even though it was only around five minutes.

"Yeah I'd love that."

------

After passing through the large security gates I pulled into the driveway of Marshall's estate and I could smell the freshly cut grass. How somebody can have alive and healthy enough grass to be able to be cut in the winter time is beyond me, even though I do love the smell. It reminds me of waking up every morning in Florida then going outside to the bus stop. Everything was so light and fresh there. Here the skies always look depressing and dark.

After I parked my car I walked up to the front door and before I could even knock someone was pulling the door open. Whitney was standing with wide eyes in the foyer with a smile like a Cheshire cat. She had her dark hair pulled up in pigtails and she was wearing a cute blue and white striped dress. How anyone could wear a dress in this weather is beyond me.

A few feet behind her stood Hailie who was currently busy doing something on her phone. When Whitney opened the door she didn't even look up. She stayed in the same spot with her eyes fixated on her phone.

"Hey girls," I said a little breathlessly. I really hated the cold and it was really cold out today. As soon as I spoke Hailie looked up from her phone and smiled.

"Come in!" Whitney eagerly chirped as she grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the large house. Inside of their home was large and warm. As always it smelled like fresh linens that had just been removed from the drier. It was a very warm and welcoming aroma. I looked down at the soft rug I was standing on and saw vacuum streaks that indicated someone had recently been cleaning.

While I was being pulled into conversation with Hailie and Whitney I could hear heavy thuds coming down the stiars that told me Marshall was here and he must've heard me pull in.
