I wake up at five again the next morning, and the pain is worse than yesterday. I press the yellow button on the remote, and get ready. Once the door unlocks at seven, I rush out and head to the computer room to see Joshua. He walks over to me as soon as he sees me, "How'd you sleep last night?

"Good, actually. You were right."

"See? Nothing to worry about. I heard you had some serious injuries. Are you prepared for battle?"

"They're not serious. They-"

"But you have the Healer. It must be serious. At least deep?"

"No. Well...yes it's a little deep, I guess."

"And your head?"

"Not even a concussion. Lady said it should be fine by tomorrow."

"Ok. Well, head to the Bergs. I suppose you'll be fighting then?" I nod, and turn to the direction of the door. My crew and I load onto the Berg, and prepare ourselves for a long trip. "How's your shoulder?" The lady I set in charge yesterday asks.

"Fine. I can fight today."

"Yes ma'am."

"What's your name?"

"Melissa."

I nod, and she takes a seat with the others. I need some friends on this thing. I really just need someone to talk to. Most of the people here are around my age. Melissa can't be older than twenty. She has brown hair, and blue-gray eyes. She seems nice, too.

After a half an hour, I call Melissa over, "Hey Melissa," she raises her eyebrows, and walks over to me. I pat the ground next to me. "What's your story?" I ask as she takes a seat.

"I'm sorry?"

"Like why are you here? Where were you when the Flare started?

"Oh...well, I wasn't too old. I'm twenty now. My parents told me that a disease was coming, and there was no stopping it," she takes a deep breath, and turns her attention from the wall, to me, "Worst part is, I did stop it, and I had to watch them die."

"So you were originally immune. Like, you didn't need the cure."

"Yep. I was going to be an orphan, but I decided to join WICKED. I wasn't going to do any...tests on anyone. So I joined training for the military," she looks back at the wall, "Well, WICKED's version of military anyways. What about you?"

"Hmm...well, I was younger than you when the Flare happened. But, my family didn't die til I was thirteen. Me and Newt had been friends all of our lives, so him and his family took me in. He asked me out when I was fourteen, and joined WICKED to be a test subject."
