I can't tell how long it's been.

Me and Sterling talk the whole time. I'm surprised that someone can actually make conversation with me for this long. Maybe I'm getting myself back. I haven't been the same since the Scorch Trials. By that time, I was confused and angry. That's when I lost my kindness. I don't really know what happened to me. It was as if at that point, I knew less of my past self than I ever did.

Our chattering stops as Margaret starts to wake up. I place a fake Sterling in the room, and set him as an abuser.

She sits srait up, and looks at her son, who sits across the table from her. She stares at him for a second, only to notice the look of hatred in his eyes. She slowly stands up, and backs away. He does the same, except he walks towards her.

They don't say a word. She knows what's going to happen. Come on, Margaret. Fight. She stops suddenly. What are you doing? She stares at him as he makes his way two feet in front of her.

He brings his fist up, and she closes her eyes. Fight him. He punches her in the face. She stumbles backward, but catches her balance, and stands back in the place she was before.

"Come on, mom." I hear Sterling say. I know he's going to make me stop the test in a minute. I wish she would just fight. He continues to punch her. She doesn't cry out, or even phase.

I stop the test. I'm not as rutheless as Joshua. Although, it did help. But it's different for everyone.
What if it makes it worse for her? To let the test keep going...What if it kills her, and it's all my fault? I need Joshua's help.

Margaret holds her face as she tries to soothe the pain. "I will get you some Med-jacks." I type in the computer for some medical assistance, and almost instantly, two women in green suits enter. I look up at Sterling, who is making a judgmental face at me. "What?"

"Med-jacks?"

"What am I supposed to call them?"

"Doctors? Nurses?"

I shake my head as I punch in the results, and send them. "Why can't I call them Med-jacks?"

"Because that's not what they are. That's like calling a butterfly a ladybug."

"No it's not."

"Yes it is."

I take a deep breath. I can't tell whether it's funny, or irritating. "I will call them Med-jacks, and you can call them..."

"Doctors."

"Yeah."

He crosses his arms, and watches his mom through the window. The Med-jacks rub some kind of liquid on her face, then exit the room.

"Let's break for lunch," I say through the mic, and leave the room.

I step inside the elevator, and press level 2. Newt is already there, standing in line. I grab a tray, and stand behind someone I don't know. After I get my food, I take a seat next to Newt. "How's training?"

"Good. The Flare is already leaving. It's crazy."

"Why did mine take so long?" I didn't mean to say it out loud. It just came out.

"You were the first to be tested like that. Of course it's going to take a little longer than the others. Besides, Joshua was unsure of what technique to use. So he just had to keep trying."

"Yeah..."

"How's your patient?"

"Terrible. Well, maybe not all that bad. I just have no idea what I'm doing."

"You'll get the hang of it."

"Hopefully." Unless Thomas gets me the klunk out of here...

Lily and Sarah show up, and she already starts talking about Thomas, "He's going to see Brenda today!" She says, as she stuffs her face with a sandwich. "What if they get back together?" She starts crying. At least, I think she is. It's more like she wants to cry, but can't. So she makes these weird crying noises to make up for it.

"Probably not. She's a Crank, if you remember," I say, slightly laughing.

She stops the random noises, and looks at the ceiling, then back at me, "Yeah...but, what if she uses the cure thingy and is totally ok now. What then Kenzie!?"

"Then you let them be happy. Isn't that what you want for him?" Newt says, and glances at me. I shrug as I continue to make eye contact with Lily.

Lily lets out a sigh, and proceeds to eat her food. I agree with Newt, but I still would love the fact if Lily and Thomas could be together. "What about Minho?" I say through a chuckle.

"Everyone knows he's crushing on that chick," Lily answers back.

"Melissa? He like actually likes her, or is he flirting?"

"I think he likes her," Newt cuts in.

"Hm," I reply. And the conversation ends.

Gally walks up, and him and Lily already start to go at it. Maybe she should like Gally. I think to myself. I try not to laugh out loud, because everyone would want to know what I was laughing at.

The rest of our meal is full of Lily and Gally making fun of each other. Which I don't mind, it's kind of hilarious.
