"i'm sorry, did i wake you up?"

nari held jaemin's hand that was on her head, making jaemin flustered because he thought that nari was drowsy. well, she was but how can she sleep when the guy she's been admiring for a while suddenly showed up and held her?

they stayed in their position, nari's head was leaning on jaemin's shoulder and their hands were still touching each other. "are you alright?" nari couldn't help but to ask. she suddenly remembered that jaemin was furious earlier when he had a fight with donghyuck.

jaemin looked at his bruised knuckles. he's fine, he just felt a bit regretful because he learned that what he believed in five months was just a misunderstanding. yes, donghyuck likes nari but only as a friend.

"i feel stupid." i've hurt you because of my stupidity. "but thanks for asking me."

silence conquered them. jaemin doesn't know what to say and nari doesn't know if she should say something. they both wanted to let out something from their chest but they didn't know how.

"jaemin, what if i told you that i know someone who likes you?" she suddenly remembered that donghyuck told her that a friend of his will make a move on jaemin. at first, she pretended that she couldn't care less but who is she deceiving, though? the moment that donghyuck told her that, she was bothered as hell.

nari slowly removed her head on jaemin's shoulder and stood up straight to face him. jaemin was flustered for the second time when he felt nari's gaze on him so he averted his eyes. jaemin stayed silent so she quickly took back his words.

"okay, you don't have to-"

"if it's not you, i'm not interested at all."

"w-what?"

"i said, if it's not you," jaemin finally returned the gaze that nari was sending him and smiled at her. jaemin may seem confident but his hands were shaking. this was all new to him. "i'm not interested."

since nari wasn't saying anything, jaemin continued, "i had a crush on you when we were kids. we fought because i told you that i dislike strawberries and to be honest, i just kept bugging you that time because i thought you were cute." he scratched the back of his neck, feeling a little embarassed about his confession.

"when we met again for the second time, this time in college, i couldn't help but to get smitten by you again. you're still the girl who rolled her eyes at me, just more mature and more beautiful," jaemin felt giddy when he reminisced the time when she offered him a strawberry chewing gum. "since then, i've been trying to bump into you often. i think that was kinda obvious."

"i'm sorry if i avoided you after i kissed you. you like renjun, i'm sorry if i made you uncomfortable with my actions. and i also thought donghyuck liked you and i couldn't stomach betraying a friend. but that decision was a complete fail though, i just fell harder," nari was just watching him so he felt extra nervous. jaemin doesn't really talk that much but he couldn't stop speaking about his feelings for her.

"so, i just wanted to say," he bit his lip as he continued to stare at nari. "i like you... a lot actually."

"but i completely understand if you reject me. i mean i know you still like ren-"

jaemin's blabber was cut off when nari leaned forward to press a gentle kiss on his lips. he was surprised at first but he soon melted with her touch as he responded to her affection. he felt nari smiled between their kiss before she pulled away.

jaemin slightly brushed his finger against his lips, "w-what-"

"why do you think i always hang out with you even though i don't like coffee?"

"why?"

"it's because i like you, dumbass. should i prove it to you again?"

jaemin finally felt the corners of his lips to curl upward but he was still nervous, he felt an entire zoo in his stomach. he wrapped his arms around nari's waist, engulfing her in a warm embrace. it might be a cheesy thing to say, but jaemin never felt this kind of happiness before.

jaemin pulled away slightly from the hug as he wanted to see nari's face, "yes, prove it to me again."

"what?" nari became flustered, she was obviously just bluffing when she told her she would kiss him again. she felt her cheeks reddened, she was too shy to do it again.

jaemin chuckled at her blushing state as he pecked her on the lips, "you're driving me crazy."
