After searching her apartment and around it, I was left with nothing. She was gone and it infuriated my wolf and I.

I ran all around the small town she lived in, trying to find her. I checked every store, every gas station, every play ground. Every house, apartment complex, and every building. Every dark alleyway, every corner. Nothing came up. I realized she probably wasn't in the city. I needed to make she was safe.

I realised that she was a smart girl. Even with being new to the vampire world which I'm only sixty percent sure about, she was smart so after thinking about it for some minutes, I finally realized it.

Only an amateur would hide out in an open city.

Making it seem like this wouldn't be the first time she was hiding from someone.

After not being able to find her in the city I headed towards the forest. I knew the forest like the back of my hand. Being a werewolf and all, and the fact that my pack resided in this forest.

I knew there were only a select few caves and places to hide in the back of the forest. The perfect place for her to run and hide away. The closest one to the entrance was probably where she was hiding out.

I trailed through the forest and continued to sniff my surroundings. Seeing if I could find her scent anywhere, to help me lead me to her.

Nero really wanted to shift and look for her. Yes, it would be a quicker process but I couldn't afford to scare her away again and I have no idea if she's gonna be scared of Nero or not. So for now, I pushed him away and tried to focus on her scent.

I weaved in and out of the trees. Through and around every bush and pond. Knowing where every stick and rock was, also helped my case.

I ended up at the first cave. I ran all the way through it. No trace of her.

Then it hit me. Her sweet scent of Rose and Mint. I caught on to just a bit. It was just enough for me to follow it to her. It lead me to the fourth and final cave. She had to be here, her scent was very strong.

Dang. She got far. I'll give it to her and her vampire speed. I didn't expect her to get so far.

I slowly made my way up to the cave she was located in and stood at the edge. I pressed my back against the side, making sure she couldn't see me. The sound of her heart beat relieved me. She was here after all and I wanted to tease her a bit. I waited for my scent to travel to her. After a while of waiting, and her realizing I was there, I swiftly turned around and into the entrance for the cave.

"Well, hello there Quinn." I slowly, emphasized her name. Teasing her a bit, I propped myself up against the cave wall with my elbow.

"Axton." She said back nervously. She was definitely shocked and a little scared to see me. Nero, my wolf, purred at the sound of her saying our name.

"Aren't you glad to see me?" I snapped back. I gestured, raising my hands as if I was presenting myself. The fear in her diminished immediately.

"Does it look like I'm happy to see you?" Quinn added on. She sat up, previously laying down on the hard cave floor. My eyes fell on the shirt she used as a blanket and the opened duffle bags that were filled with clothes for a second. It made Nero and I, a bit mad to seethe conditions she was in but we pushed the thought aside and went back to talking.

I realized I thought about it for a little longer than intended as I stared back at Quinn while she looked at me intently. Waiting for me to answer.

"Why wouldn't you be?" I replied, going along with this interrogation, where our only response was with a question.

"What gave away that me sitting in a cave, obviously trying to run away from you, made me seem happy to see you?" She played along. I could tell she was slowly getting angrier, as her tone grew and she visibly looked mad. She looked cute when she was being sassy.

I stared at her in admiration. She was covered in grime and dirt, wearing what she had on earlier. But she added a sweatshirt around her waist and tied her hair up in a braid. I wanted to walk up to her and wipe the smudges off her face. I wanted to wipe of the one thing bothering her effortless beauty. A couple leaves and twigs sticking out of the top of her head. A small scratch on her forearm. Her soft, pink lips were set into a straight line as she waited for my answer.

I took all of her in. Every. Last. Bit. In doing so I was brought back to reality after she loudly cleared her throat. I now realized I had been staring for quite some time.

"I didn't mean to." Was all I had left to say and I meant every word of it. I just hoped she'd forgive me.

Here's a pic of a drawing I made. It could be cleaner and the lines could be better. But I did this at school as quickly as I could with crappy colored pencils so voila   ~ Riley
