Nero, my wolf, glowed inside of my head as she almost collapsed in front of me. He was threatening to surface and claim our mate away from other's eyes but I pushed him away.
As her legs gave out and her eyes gave into the darkness, I reached and stopped her from falling. The bite mark on my body already healed. "What do you think you're doing, Ax?" Theo, my beta, shouted at me as I held the beautiful girl from collapsing onto the floor. Ignoring Theo, I fixed her properly in my arms so now I was holding her bridal style. Looking down at my beautiful mate, it pained me that she was a vampire. But the fact that she was my mate didn't make it so bad.
Her Rose and Mint scent was the first thing I smelt as I stepped out of my pack. I was so worried and excited at the same time. I couldn't get her delicious scent out of my head and I didn't want to.
I knew a lot about vampires because my father hated them so he made us cautiously aware of them. She had gone a while without human blood and her black eyes and veins told me that. She didn't mean to snap at Harper, she was the first opportunity and she was only doing what her instincts told her to do.
I refused to use the fact that she was a vampire or that she just tried to eat my sister against her. I was just really glad I got there when I did.
As I stared at her, I wanted to see her grey eyes that I only got a glimpse of. They instantly reminded me of silver.
Her long, thick, and curvy eyelashes protected her eyes as they casted above her cheeks. Her long, wavy, black hair streamed down as I held her. Her skin was nearly pale and very soft which only made matters worse because I was incredibly attracted to her. Her soft, pink lips. She highlighted them with a clear, lipgloss. Her lips were sewn together. The glossy lips I would later.. I am so whipped. As I began walking back to my pack, the RedFangs pack, Theo stepped in front of my way, blocking me with his eyes glowing blue.
"You're not taking a bloodsucker back to our pack! Are you insane? Did she do that mind thingy? Snap out of it, Axton!" He snapped at me. Harper, my sister, joined him at her side, standing with her head strong. Sometimes I really hate that my beta and sister are mates because then they can use it against me.
"We should kill her because she tried to feed off me," She scoffed, her arms folding across my chest. I automatically held her closer to me. Her scent and tingling touch only made me more protective of her and I didn't even know her name.
I bet it was just as beautiful as her.
God, I'm already going soft. What's wrong with me?
"You will not do such a thing to her. I'll break both of your hands before you even get close," I threatened my sister. The thought of her hurting my mate pained me. Barely know anything about her and already want to protect her from the world.
"Are you even thinking straight? You can't bring a bloodsucker to the packhouse!" Harper snapped, throwing her hands at her sides in anger.
She had a point but I guess that was a good reason why my house was in the middle of the woods and was an easy access from where we were. I was a smart guy, I knew she had to be new to the vampire world or new to the town because a vampire wouldn't dare come around a werewolf pack.
Especially my pack.
"I'm taking her to my house, now leave. I want to be alone with her because you two are just going to scare her away," I ordered and it was hard for them not to let me walk. I am their alpha of course.
"You are making a mistake, Axton!" Harper shouted back at me, still not listening in my plea. How dare she question my motives?
I groaned, turning to her. "You will not question my decisions concerning my mate ever again, got it?" I slowly told her, my voice lacing with power. Daring her to continue.
Her dark brown eyes widened out of shock and fear. "Mate?" Harper and Theo said at the same time. They looked back at each other, then stared back at me.
Those two are so oblivious sometimes. Why else would I be like this towards a vampire? I rolled my eyes at them before bolting towards the house.
I adjusted her on my arm so that I can open the door. The scent of my house hitting me as I walked into my house, knowing my way around it. Kicking the bedroom door open, I walked in and immediately headed to the bed to put her on.
What do I do? How do I know she's okay?
I know that she was pretty much alive because her chest was still rising and falling in a rhythm and I think she was alright since the veins were gone.
Her head falls to the side with her soft black hair scattered wild on the pillow her head was resting on.She had a little bit of my blood on the side of her mouth. I licked my thumb and wiped it off, carefully hoping she wouldn't wake up from this. What am I thinking? She passed out and I was worried about waking her. What a first impression that would be.
Was the pillow soft enough for her? Is the bed comfortable? Was she scared? Does she like me?
I'm going paranoid.
I finally got her. I finally got my mate after years of searching for her. I've been searching in all the wrong places.
Vampire or not, she was mine and they will all learn not to cross her because one scratch on her priceless body is death.
