Four Months Later
I'm so pregnant.
The baby bump was super obvious. I mean, I was having twins after all.
Axton didn't know that yet though.
Honestly, I was scared to hold the surprise against him. Days I felt bad because it's his children, and he deserved to know as much as me. But on others, I'm excited to surprise him when I finally go into labor.
Axton never missed a doctor's appointment. But after the first one, hours after our doctor, Romano, contacted us saying that there seems to be something he missed. Axton was busy that day, and I honestly didn't want to bother him so I went alone.
And that's when I found out we were going to have not one, but two pups. Last month we got the news that I'd be having a girl and a boy. We were so lucky to receive that. The doctor just blurted out a girl to Axton when he asked because Mr. Romano was in on the surprise, obviously.
Days, I felt guilty when he would fall asleep hugging my stomach or even talking to our unborn children. Using the singular terms when it is in fact plural.
But eventually it'll all be worth it.
"Baby," Axton pulled me out of my thoughts. Today was the day I've been dreading for weeks. The day Axton left me for a business trip. The trip was originally supposed to be the week of my due date, but Axton immediately pushed it forward since he had to attend the meeting eventually. It was either today or during the week I could be in labor.
"Hm?" I hummed, snuggling further into his chest. He knew very well what I was doing. I didn't want him to go. I know he had to, but I'll miss him badly, and I practically need Axton. What's worse is that he'll be gone for a couple of days.
"You know I don't want to," he sighed, running his fingers through my black waves and down my back. "I don't want you to go either" I obviously stated, frowning. "I know. But I rather go now than having the possibility of missing the birth of our little girl," he pointed out.
He's right.
In defeat, I let go of my grip which was stopping him from getting off the bed. He got off and for the next thirty minutes, I had the opportunity of watching him get dressed. His muscles flexing got me every time. I'm sure it was too early in the morning for me to be picturing such dirty things, but I couldn't help myself. Axton was sculpted perfectly. Sometimes I got jealous that he looked so good then I remembered he's all mine.
