It was too early for school, Jotaro Kujo really wanted to ditch, but his mother was making him go. And he did not want to hear her scream about how important education is. Jotaro was in his classroom, a mob of girls admiring from afar. They would only stare and the brave ones would give him love letters, to which he refused. Jotaro had no interest in girls.

The chatty classroom quieted down. Jotaro looked up to see the teacher had come in, along with a new boy. His hair was a cherry red and had a long curly bang on the side, the rest was short. He had a school uniform like the rest.

"Attention class, this is a new student who has just transferred here. His name is Noriaki Kakyoin. Kakyoin, would you like to say anything to the class?"

The new student, Kakyoin just shook his head. The teacher looked at him. "Come on now, say something at least. Do you not talk?"

He then pulled out a notebook. He wrote. "I'd prefer not too."

"Oh I see. Shy type. Got it. There's an empty seat next to Kujo, that boy with the ripped up hat. Take your seat please." Kakyoin nodded and quickly went to his seat. The room filled with whispers. Jotaro looked at him. Kakyoin looked this way and quickly looked away and down at his desk. Jotaro studied him more, He looked stressed out by something. Something was on his mind and Jotar couldn't tell what.

---

It was lunch break. Once classes had ended, a group of classmates went up to Kakyoin. They were asking him a lot of questions about the last school, his life, any friends and afew just wanting to be his friend. He was clearly uncomfortable. Jotaro walked up to him.

"I need you to come with me."

He quickly stood up, Jotaro walked out of the room. Kakyoin followed. He took his notebook with him. They went to the school rooftop. He wrote in his notebook. "What do you need?"

"I noticed you were uncomfortable. And you seem like you don't like crowds so I brought you up here. One person isn't as bad as 10 isn't it?"

He wrote again. "No it is not. Nevertheless, I'm still scared of people."

"Say, is there a reason you don't talk?"

He wrote. "I got bullied alot and it got to the point where I don't talk anymore. I can talk but I don't prefer to."

"Why were you bullied?"

Kakyoin widened his eyes. He looked at the floor and looked uncomfortable. "On second thought, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I shouldn't force you. But I want you to remember, I'll be here for you. I know I look intimidating, but I'm not as mean as I seem. I look forward to talking to you more. If you want, that is."

Kakyoin smiled and his face grew rosey. He didn't pick up his notebook. He dropped it and crashed into Jotaro, hugging him. "Thank you." Jotaro hugged back. He didn't know this boy's problems or what he went through but he made up one thing already.

'Protect him. Protect that smile at all costs.'

"You talked."

Kakyoin nodded his head. Kakyoin has yet to let go of Jotaro. Jotaro started to feel embarrassed. He would be especially if anyone saw them.

"Kakyoin, I don't mind you hugging me, but, not here for this long."

Kakyoin let go and picked up his notebook. He began to write again. "I'm sorry. It's just I never really had any friends."

"That changes today. Let's get back to class or else we are gonna be late."

Kakyoin nodded with a smile. He wrote again. "Can I get your name?"
