Inspiration: The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Character: Esther Greenwood
_____
Esther Greenwood was on the floor in her room. She sat in the warm spot where the sun shone through the window. It had been a week since she arrived in New England.
She hadn't bathed since returning home. No energy. No point. Not even able to write.
Her mother left for her weekly Bridge game. Gave Esther one chore. Take a bath. Esther ran the water. Turned it off when it was full.
Her Mom returned hours later. Esther was still how she left her.
Esther hadn't left her bedroom floor.
The room had gone dark.
Tube water cold.
