Inspiration: J.D. Salinger's Glass Family
_____
The snow was falling. It was mid-Hanukkah and the Glass children were home. The older ones somehow found time in their busy schedules to make the trip.
Everyone except for Seymour that is, he was stuck at University with end of term grading. He was gonna take the train home this afternoon but the snow started.
Bessie and Les missed him but were proud of their brilliant oldest son.
Bessie smiled as she watched the children open their pocket dictionaries. A Hanukkah present. She was proud of herself. A practical gift.
Dictionaries discarded. They all ate their gold coins instead.
