"I don't like my eggs the way you make them." Genesis grunted, looking over Harley's shoulder with her nose scrunched. "You don't like cheese?' Harley raised an eyebrow and Genesis shook her head. "No, no. I just don't like them...like that."
"They're fluffy!" Trinity called from the kitchen stool, looking up from her phone. "Yeah exactly. Fluffy." "Fluffy's the best way to eat them." Harley said in surprise. "No." "Then you're making your own goddamn eggs." "You're so sen-" Genesis was cut off when Harley's phone rang. Turning off the stove, she wiped her hands on her pants before picking it up.
"It's Kelly and Chris." "Answer." Trinity whispered, eying the phone. "Kelly, Chris. How are you guys doing?" Harley said casually despite the butterflies in her stomach. What could they be calling for? "Put it on speaker." Trinity mouthed and she nodded, taking the phone away from her ear. "Can you put the phone on speaker please? And get everyone in the room." Harley winced and Genesis left to get Millie and Kenny. "Yeah sure, let me do that."
"Everyone in?" "Yep." Harley said once Millie and Kenny appeared, sitting on the stools next to Trinity. "Good. So let's talk." Everyone leaned into the phone and Harley swallowed hard. "About what?"
"About your behavior last night, Harley." "My behavior?" Harley bit her lip, mind immediately going to her flirting with Joba. Could she get in trouble for that? "Thanks a lot Harley." Genesis mumbled and Trinity hit her hard in the arm.
"With Kevin Abstract." "Woah, woah. Why would I be flirting with Kevin Abstract?" "What? Who said anything about flirting?" Chris asked and Kelly said, "Uh, Kevin's gay sweetheart." Harley slapped her forehead. "Shit no. No, sorry that's not what I meant. I know he is."
"Can I please continue then?" Chris asked and Trinity answered, "Yeah of course. Sorry Chris." "Anyway, what I was saying is that your behavior with Kevin Abstract is absolutely inexcusable. And childish." "Then why aren't you calling him right now?" Harley asked defensively. "This is what we're talking about," Kelly added in, "Both of you need to focus on yourselves right now and your separate inappropriate actions."
"But-" "No buts Zoey. We love all of you like our own daughters so that means we're gonna treat you like it. And reprimand you when you need to be," Chris said, "Which means calling you guys out on your bullshit. Aka what you pulled last night at the award show." "I didn't think it was that bad." She mumbled bashfully into the phone.
"Harley, have you seen the articles? People are upset that you're rivals and it's not gonna benefit your album sales. Loverboy is coming out in a few weeks and we need all the good press that we can get." Harley swallowed. "Okay, okay I'm sorry and I'll try better the next time I see him. Which will be a really long time for now anyway so look how lucky you guys are." She tried to make a joke, letting out an awkward laugh.
"Actually," Kelly started and she winced, "We want you guys seeing each other a lot sooner than that." "What?" Harley spit out and Kenny chuckled. "What do you mean?" Trinity asked, curiosity written blatantly on her face. "I think it's necessary that you all hang out together in order to get to know each other. You get what I'm saying?" "I get it, Kelly. I just don't like it." Harley shook her head vigorously.
"Oh come on," Trinity teased, "You didn't get along with any of them last night?" "No." Harley crossed her arms over her chest, trying not to think of a certain blue eyed boy. "Oh come on, you were making googly eyes at Joba." Genesis cackled wickedly and Harley said, "Shut the fuck up, Jennifer."
"Wait? Joba?" Kelly practically giggled into the phone and Chris said, "I can see it." "No. No. Stop trying to distract me from what we're really talking about here." Harley said definitively, taking a sip of water. "Girl, Joba is a part of Brockhampton." Genesis raised an eyebrow and Millie added softly, "And we'll be hanging out with them." "But I don't want to hang out with any of them." "I think it's a good idea actually." Kenny suddenly said and Harley gasped. "Kenny are you feeling okay?" "Harley I'm serious," She shrugged, "I think it'll be smart to keep our enemies close."
