"Do you like this idea?" Trinity pushed her computer towards Harley. She had been working on some merch designs for both Loverboy and the 6 song ep that they were about to release with Brockhampton. And no, they still hadn't come up with a name.
On Trinity's laptop was 'Fortydust' written on the left of a black shirt vertically and a group photo on the right. It had a 90s vibe to it with a light blue font and a fun pattern behind the group shot.
"Trinity this is sick." "You think people would buy it?" Her face was apprehensive but Harley shook her head. "I swear this is my favorite merch you've made for us so far." "Really?" "Of course," Harley placed her hand over Trinity's, "I swear to god it's fucking awesome. I wouldn't lie." "But do you think our fans will buy it?" "Of course they will. It'll sell out in no time." Trinity smiled lightly and then nodded. "Thanks...I always get nervous when showing you my ideas."
"Don't get nervous," Harley's eyebrows furrowed, "Your ideas are always amazing. And let's say I don't love something, it doesn't mean it's bad or that I have the final say. I love looking at anything you create." Trinity reached over to give Harley a hug and then pulled back. "It's not that I don't think they're good. I guess I just get nervous that they won't be good enough. Or that other people won't like my ideas as much as I do."
"People will probably love the shirts more than you, I promise. And if it means anything, I love them just as much as you do." "I don't know about that." Trinity smiled. "Now let me see the ones for our collab."
Trinity took her laptop back to pull up her second idea. "I really like these too." Harley looked down to inspect them and then grinned. "Holy shit Kevin's gonna love this."
On the front was a red colored picture of Harley and Kevin in their punk outfits from the I Need A Heart Autopsy music video. On the other side was a quote that said, "Mom kicked me out of the house." Harley started laughing. "That's amazing." "Brockhampton likes puting cryptic shit on their shirts so I figured this would be cool."
"I really think Kevin's gonna love it and so will everyone else," Harley paused, "Wait, what about for everyone else?" "Here's another of Matt and Genesis from the music video. And also Joba, Kenny, and Merlyn." "What about you, Dom, Millie, and Ciarán?" "We can take two pictures when we're filming for Harmony." "Who's gonna be together?" "Millie and Ciarán. And Dom and me." "That's so cute. Are you gonna write quotes?" "I already have a few ideas but you can see them when the shirts are done." "I'm impatient." "I know you are." Trinity leaned back in her seat with a grin.
"By the way, how are you and Dom working together? Your verses compliment each other really well in Harmony." Trinity was quiet for a second, picking at her nail polish before she spoke up. "We do compliment each other." Her tone was hesitant, however. "What's wrong?" "I-I..uh I don't know how to say this." "Just say it, Trin. I'll figure out what you mean." Harley held her hand again.
"I just, I feel like Dom is so much better than me. He's so talented." Harley paused for a second, hearing the vulnerability laced in Trinity's voice. "Trinity do you remember what you said to me when I was debating working with Brockhampton?" "No," She bit her lip, "What?" "You said that we all had our own specific gifts and talents. And that they couldn't be compared," Harley paused, "These are your own words. And you Trinity, are smarter than me so I'd listen to yourself. I can't say it any better."
"But it's not the same." Trinity closed her laptop softly. "Why not?" "Because I've constantly been told that I'm some-some poet in this group. But now hearing Dom, it feels like I'm not even close to that. And I'm scared in these songs with him, everyone's gonna find out that I'm not close to that poet that they thought."
"Trinity," Harley placed her hands on Trinity's shoulders, wanting to shake her around, "Never say that about yourself again. You are one of the best lyricists of our collective's generation. Did I mention your flow is unmatched? You can switch up on the beat so smoothly and shit, I'm jealous." "No you're not. You can do everything."
