"I'm heading out for the night." Harley rushed down the stairs, car keys jingling in her right hand. All the girls looked away from the show they were watching in the living room to stare at her. "Oh yeah?" Trinity raised an eyebrow. "Yes," Harley laughed awkwardly, "See you guys tomorrow."
She held her breath, almost to the door when Genesis' voice rang out, "So who are you hooking up with?" "Gen!" Millie blushed, "Just let her go." "I'm curious!" Genesis smirked and Trinity added, "This is a no judgement zone." Oh they'd do more than just judge her.
"You wouldn't know them." Kenny started laughing. "That's impossible. We all know each other's friends. And hookups." "Well...not this one." Harley mumbled, looking down at her feet. "Please at least tell us where you met him or her." Trinity leaned closer on her hand. "And it better not be Cat." Genesis eyeballed her from the couch, making Harley wince. "It's not Cat." But she came over two days ago.
"Ok so where did you meet them?" "We're keeping it on the low for now." Harley wouldn't look any of them in the eyes. Who knew when or if she'd ever tell them. Joba and her were still ending this after the ep came out, right? "But-" "Fine. We're chill with that, " Trinity interrupted Genesis' pleading, "But I'm still curious." "Me too." Genesis and Kenny chorused while Millie shook her head. "I'll leave you alone." "Thanks Millie," Harley sighed before turning to the door, "I'm leaving now!" "Bye, Ms. Secretive." Genesis called out and Harley flipped her off.
When she got up to Joba's apartment, Harley knocked on the door, excited for tonight. It was currently 7:00 and she'd waited all day in anticipation. When Joba answered, Harley smiled brightly and jumped towards him with a squeal. Joba picked her up to swing her around and Harley laughed, slapping his arm to put her down. "You look beautiful. Like always." Joba closed the door behind himself, still grinning over at her. "So do you," Harley's smile was bright and full of excitement as she plopped down onto his couch, "Now what do you have planned for us today?" Joba flopped down next to her with a smug smile.
"You know how we were talking about Twilight?" "Don't tell me what I think you're gonna say." Harley cackled. "I have the popcorn and candy ready." "You didn't forget the Jolly Ranchers, right?" "Obviously not," Joba raised an eyebrow, "And I still have the Dum Dums." "Do you still have the Milk Duds?" "I ate them all," He chuckled with a small blush, "But I picked up more." "This is gonna be our best uh-" Harley blinked. "Date?" They both stared at each other and then Harley nodded slowly. "Yeah," She blinked, "Our best date yet."
They both were quiet, realizing their silent agreement before Joba shot up from the couch. "I'm gonna go get the snacks." "I'll come with you." Harley stood up eagerly. It was like she was suddenly a lost puppy, following him around. Yeah, they were technically on a date but no, Harley wasn't ready to date. She was still struggling to open up to him, even if he was the first person she'd been able to really talk to in a while.
They walked into the kitchen and Joba already had the popcorn laying out on the counter in a big bowl. "You like anything extra in it?" "Is it buttery?" "Yeah I made sure it was." "Then it's perfect." She swiped the bowl, taking a big handful to shove into her mouth. "You gonna eat the whole bowl?" Joba grinned at her and she shrugged. "Maybe if I want to." Joba shook his head with a small smile before taking some from the bowl. "I got the candy." "Perfect."
And then they started watching, laughing, and discussing certain parts while the movie rolled. Harley's head rested on Joba's chest while his arm wrapped around her waist, tucking her into his side.
She absent mindedly ran a finger along the seam of his jeans, eyes focused on the movie. He has really long legs, Harley thought to herself. Usually she was the same height as most guys, but Joba was obviously taller than her.
