Mattia and the unexpected

7 years later....

Vanessa had another baby 1 year after Giovanni was born and it was a girl. They named her tiara(a twist from tia).
Mattia was working his dream job and Vanessa was a half-time businesswoman.

Giovanni is now 7 and tiara is 6

Vanessa has had a lot on her plate over the past 8 months as her father was diagnosed with cancer and died just a couple weeks ago:(

She's been trying to visit his grave  as often as possible but also be a mother and go to work.

Now back to the story.

Dinner.

"Gio eat your greens or the veggie monster will visit you at night" I said while pouring a drink for myself.

Tiara:"mommy that's not nice. You cant scare and threaten us like that"

Mattia laughed and I just widened my eyes at her.

Me:"sweetheart where did you learn the word threaten from"

Tiara:"daddy lets me watch his show with him sometimes, I think it's called minds crime"

I looked over at Mattia who was very much enjoying this moment.

Gio:"mom I'm done can I go take a bath now"

Me:"fine, I'll be up in second to help you"

Giovanni ran upstairs.

Tiara:"mommy this food was really good but don't threaten my brother again" she said and pouted.

Me:"thank you sweetie now go upstairs and pick an outfit out for tomorrow"

Tiara and mattia both asked me
"What are we doing tomorrow"

I picked up mine and tiaras plates up and started walking.

"We're going to visit grandma and grandpa polibio tomorrow"

"Ok" tiara said then giggled and ran upstairs.

Mattia picked the rest of the plates up and came into the kitchen to help me.

Mattia:"why are you taking the kids to my parents tomorrow"

Me:"your coming too"

Mattia:"no thanks"

Me:"mattia it's time to see your father"

(Mattia and his dad got into an argument 4 months ago and haven't spoken since and I think it's immature from them both)

Mattia:"no, ill just have to sit and listen to him educate me, like I'm a full adult now he can't control me anymore. What makes him so sure what's best for me in life. All this because he hates the job I have"

As I was finishing washing the dishes I just let Mattia speak out about his father. When I was done I finally wiped my hand and hugged him.

Me:"sort this out with your father before it's too late, tomorrow is never guaranteed for some of us"

Mattia hugged me back and looked me in the eyes.

Mattia:"I'm sorry that's so selfish of me , how you been"

Me:"im okay you know, but I'm just finally adjusting to the fact that he's gone so soon."

I started to cry in his arms and he just kissed my forhead.
