"Hitoka-chan, tadai-"
A loud noise suddenly came from inside the apartment and gave rise to Hitoka, who appeared in front of her while panting.
"Eh? Why?" Yui took a few steps back.
"YUI-SAN!!!!!" Suddenly, the blond-haired girl with a small body cried and hugged her. "You didn't come home last night! I thought you were kidnapped!!!!"
Yui's confused look gradually softened at Hitoka's words. Yachi Hitoka, Hinata's classmate who now lives with her.
"Ahahahah it's ok Hitoka-chan, I'm not kidnapped." She said while stroking the blond hair in front of her.
"Then where was Yui-san from?" She asked while not stopping to cry.
Yui slightly scratched her cheek.
"Ano.."
—
"YOU STAYED AT ATSUMU-SAN PLACE?" Hitoka's eyes widened, and her tiny hands squeezed the milk box she was drinking.
"Hitokaaaa, your milk is overflowing!"
"Ahhh, gomen!" Hitoka was busy wiping her hands and the desk. "Ano, how did Yui-san come to stay at Atsumu-san's place?"
Yui blinked a few times before finally putting her head on the table. She buried her face behind her black hair. Her eyes closed for a moment. Imagine Atsumu's face, which she had just seen this morning when she woke up. Honestly, her feelings for that man didn't disappear at all. But forcing him to stay with her was definitely selfish. And she did not like it. She wanted that annoying man to succeed with his career because she liked when she saw him playing volleyball on the court the most.
"I accidentally met him, then stopped by at his apartment."
Hitoka looked at her roommate.
"Yui-san still loves Atsumu-san, huh?"
Yui lifted her face. Stared at Hitoka with a look of disbelief. Her nose turned red due to the pressure on the table surface.
"Yui-san always watches the Atsumu-san match, cheers for him, and secretly comes to the court. I know Black Jackal's schedule because I often chat with Hinata."
That little girl's words pierced her heart. During this time, she always thought that everything she did was only because she wanted to support him. But if she thought about it, it was just because she really loves him.
She ruffled her hair and plastered her face with a faint smile. "Don't you think I'm pathetic, Hitoka?"
The little girl shook her head.
"I understand Yui-san's feelings. If you didn't really love Atsumu-san, you must have selfishly forced your relationship. But you just gave it up for him." She stopped a little before continuing her words. "Maybe it's quite unfair, but your action was very cool, Yui-san."
Yui's concentration was broken when her phone suddenly rang. She hurriedly swipes the screen to pick up the call.
"Hello."
"Hello, Yui-san, where are you?"
"I'm at my apartment."
"Thank God, I'm in front of your door." The voice spoke across the phone, complete with the sound of the bell from the front door.
"Eh, why are you here?" Yui asked as she rose from her seat. Stared at Hitoka, who gave her a 'who?' look at her.
'Haru' she mouthed and made her little friend form a small 'o' with her lips.
"Yui-san forgot, right? Today you want to teach me to do my homework."
"Ah, that's right, gomen." Yui answered while turning off the phone and opened her apartment's door to find Haru, who was already standing with a gym bag hanging on his shoulder. It looked like he had just returned from his club activities. His blue eyes glared at the girl who had just welcomed him, wearing a black jersey shirt with a golden strip—resembling a claw mark, complete with a jackal logo on her chest. His eyes narrowed even more when he saw the numbers printed on it.
13
Tch.
He cursed in his heart. How come that girl could wear Miya Atsumu's jersey?
"Did you just meet Miya-san?" He asked. One hundred percent sure that the shirt was an original jersey owned by that number one setter in Japan.
"Eh, how did Haru-chan know?" That girl stuttered, then looked at her shirt. "Ah, definitely because of this shirt, huh?" Her dark eyes softened. Making someone who called Haru-chan even more annoyed.
"I'm going in." He said coldly as he stepped into the room before him. "And don't call me so cutely, Yui-san."
Yui chuckled.
"Okay, sorry." She answered while closing the door.
That jet-haired man with a pair of sea-blue eyes sat on the sofa, facing Hitoka who had been sitting in that room earlier.
"Hello, Nanase-san. Long time, no see."
"Hello, Yachi-san."
As far as Hitoka knew, Haruka was Yui's junior, and he befriended her because they both worked at a CD shop near the campus. They usually work together every Tuesday and Thursday. He was a quiet but determined individual. According to her story, he had a strong affinity for water. That was why he joined the swimming club since he was in elementary school, till now in college. At a glance, Haruka reminded Hitoka of her friends at Karasuno High School's volleyball club, who were diligent and high-willed.
"Eh, both of you are the same age; why are you so stiff?" Yui looked at the two of them with a teasing look. "Ah, it's a pity that Hitoka-chan has been dating Tetsurou-san, if she's still single, I certainly don't mind if Haru is dating Hitoka-chan." She grined. Showing a row of her teeth.
Haru snorted. Does not like the comments she gave. Whereas Hitoka just laughed awkwardly in response to her senior's words.
'Yui-san's joke is really dangerous'
"You just came back from the swimming club?" Yui pointed at his bag beside him. "Still my best little mermaid, huh?" She said it with a big smile plastered on her face. Her hand rummages his hair, which leads him to make an annoyed face. He only nodded before taking out the pile of his home work and didn't give any comment.
Hitoka saw the face of that man.
Even though his expression was cold, his face seemed to soften every time Yui laughed, and he could not hide his smile at the edge of his lips when she told him about her activities between their studies. And it clearly shows his dislike when she accidentally mentions Miya Atsumu's name, who suddenly appears on her phone screen. Called that girl from across the line and distracted her from her current activities with him.
The blond-haired little girl blinked her eyes several times.
'This man likes Yui-san, huh?'
