"Tonight, I am Katsuki Kyouko, and Miya Atsumu-san is officially engaged."
"What the.."
"What's wrong, Haru?" Kisumi looked at the face of his friend, who almost dropped the chopsticks. His pair of blue eyes stared at the television that broadcast the news about the Black Jackal anniversary celebration.
"Engaged?" His voice was choked.
"Who?" Asahi turned his head to face the television. "Huh?"
"Miya-san?!" Asahi and Kisumi voices filled the place where they were eating, followed by a squeaky sound from the chair that Haru pushed roughly.
"Haru! Where are you going? Your food.."
Haru ignored Kisumi's words and kept running down the street. His legs, which were often used to challenge the water as he swam, ran fast to a very familiar place, the ballroom near their campus. A few moments later he stopped, his breath was raging and his eyes did not stop blinking as those eyes that were as deep as the ocean caught a familiar figure sitting alone at the bus stop, in her long black dress, her hair rolled up and her fingers carrying her shoes. Her pink lips were busy sipping the popsicle she was holding.
"Yui-san.." Haru's low voice made that girl turn around; her mouth dropped slightly when she saw Haru's presence. Shocked. He could see how swollen her eyes were, but her lips perfectly curved a smile for him.
"Haruu.." she called softly.

Haru pulled out a strand of grass growing on the ground, which his shoe had trampled on. Now he and Yui spend their night by the river. Gaze at the train speeding over the bridge.
"Haru, may I ask something?"
The man who was called by his name turned his head. Gave his full attention to the girl, who was still staring nowhere.
"What is it?"
"I am stupid, am I?"
"Huh?"
She chuckled. There were no stars in her dark eyes. Only the clouds hung around and were ready to rain.
"I'm so stupid. I asked to break up with him on the pretext of protecting him. Now when someone approaches him, why does my heart hurt so much?"
Haru gulped. Her hoarse voice really tears his heart apart.
"You don't need to answer my stupid question." Yui smiled. "I just feel like a fool right now."
Haru gritted his teeth before removing his jacket and cupping Yui's shoulder.
"Yui-san, let me ask you one more question."
"Huh?"
"Will you be my lover?" Haru shook his head. "No, be my girlfriend, Yui-san. Because.." Haru hugged the girl before him. "I want to hug you, comfort you, as your boyfriend, as someone important to you."
Yui blinked a few times. Tears had gathered around her eyes and were ready to stream down her cheeks. Haru's embrace was as warm as a summer sea. Somehow, the cold wind that had been piercing her bones had slowly disappeared. She cries. Bursting her face into the chest of the man who was patting her back slowly.
She knew she was selfishly taking advantage of Haru's feelings to comfort her. Her hands, which had been clenched into fists, slowly hugged Haru back. Really, someday, if she needs to be comforted again, she will remember Haru's hug tonight. But, in her heart, Yui realized, however, that she couldn't stop loving Atsumu, even if she had to be hurt so many times.
