15 - Getting Past Stupid, Valid Reasons.

Jungkook came for dinner just as he promised and Taehyung joined him again like he did with lunch. Anyway the diner is much less crowded for dinner.

They talked and talked about many things. Taehyung was slowly turning back to his bubbly self and it was so gratifying for Jungkook to see.

Jungkook waited till Taehyung is finished with his work and took him home, going really slow, just like Taehyung asked.

"So... I'll see you tomorrow?" Taehyung asked as he got down from the bike.

"Yeah. Is 10 o'clock ok for you?"

"You don't have to do that. I can stay in the tech shop till the diner opens. Doesn't your work start earlier than that?"

"Nuh.. I sorted it out with Yugyeom. I'll come late and leave late. That way I can take you to work and I won't have to stay in the diner for long."

"Ah.. ok."

"And besides, didn't you say you won't come to the tech shop again?" Jungkook asked teasingly.

"I was just joking. You don't have to do this." Taehyung muttered while looking down.

"It's ok baby. Don't worry about it. This is easier for me too." Jungkook said as he held Taehyung's face in one hand and stroked his jaw with his thumb.

"Alright then. Good night." Taehyung closed his eyes and tilted his face up for his forehead kiss.

Jungkook hesitated for few seconds before placing a soft peck on Taehyung's lips. Taehyung's eyes shot open in suprise and Jungkook looked at him cautiously.

"Is it too early? Uhhh..." Jungkook said uncertainty, slightly panicking.

Taehyung didn't say anything but continued to look at Jungkook with wide, shocked eyes.

"Hey, I'm sorry, I didn't meant to make you uncomfortable or anything. Shit!! I should have asked if it was okay first. I'm sorr-"

"Stop!"

Jungkook looked at Taehyung who looked like he's angry and looked down in apparent shame.

"How dare you give me a kiss like that, Damn it. I need a proper one."

"W-what?" Jungkook raised his head in suprise.

"Kiss me properly Jungkook. God knows I've waited long enough!!"

Jungkook put his hand around Taehyung's waist and pulled the boy with a force, making Taehyung clash on to the elder's chest. He raised his other hand to grab Taehyung's tomato red face and tilted it before connecting their lips.

Taehyung felt lightheaded and as if thousands of butterflies flying in his stomach. His legs buckled under him and he was sure he would have fallen to the ground if Jungkook wasn't holding him by his waist.

Soon, too soon, Jungkook pulled back. Taehyung had his eyes closed and didn't open it even when Jungkook loosened his grip on Taehyung's waist.

"So.. you were waiting for it?"

Taehyung snapped his eyes open to see Jungkook smirking at him. He didn't answer and looked down, feeling mortified.

"Hmmm... answer me!!" Jungkook leaned forward and growled near Taehyung's ear.

Taehyung gulped and answered. "Y-yes"

"How long?"

Jungkook was trailing a path from Taehyung's ear to jaw with his nose and Taehyung found it very difficult to gather his thoughts enough to answer.

"How long baby?" Jungkook whispered again.

"F-from t-the day I saw y-you f-first." Taehyung whispered back.

Jungkook stiffened for a second. His heart ached at the thought of how he has made Taehyung suffer a lot. But now is not the time to dwell on it.

"That long huh..??" Jungkook pulled back to look at the flustered boy in his arms.

"Yeah. I called Jimin and asked him to come and meet my future husband actually." Taehyung said with a shy smile.

"Oh Tae... I'm sorry for hurting you baby. You have no idea how much I regret it now." Jungkook said as he stroked Taehyung's cheek again.

Taehyung could see both regret and sincerity in Jungkook's face.

"That's ok. I know now that you had your reasons, however stupid they might be. I'm just glad you came around." Taehyung said with a smile.

"Me too, baby. Me too."

"The self doubt was killing me. I couldn't figure out why you wouldn't even give me a chance. It didn't make sense for you to hate me when you don't know me at all."

"Oh baby, I didn't hate you. I could see how you felt about me from the first moment I saw you. And I knew I had to keep you away from me to keep you safe. I'm sorry Tae. It was killing me too."

Taehyung looked close to crying and Jungkook pulled him back for a tight hug.

"But that's all in the past now. And if it really comes to that, I promise I'll do everything I can so that you'll be safe."

"I know. I'm not worried."

Jungkook pulled back and held Taehyung's by his arms and gave another kiss, a shorter one this time.

"Now go inside. I'll see you in the morning."

"Good night Jungkook."

"Good night baby."

Jungkook waited till Taehyung walked inside his house before going in to his own house.

Taehyung closed the door and leaned on it. He couldn't stop the huge grin from spreading through his face.

"So I guess it went well?" Jin's voice came from the sofa and Taehyung gave a little shriek.

"Hyung!! You scared me. What are you doing there?" Taehyung asked in a breathless voice.

"I was waiting for you to come home."

"Hyung I-I...uhh- " Taehyung stuttard while blushing furiously, although Jin couldn't see it due to poor lighting.

"No no. I don't want to know any details. I just wanted to make sure you are ok." Jin said quickly raised his hands in surrender. "That's all I want to know. Good night Tae bear."

Jin stood up and started walking towards his room.

"I'm going out with Jungkook!!" Taehyung almost yelled, making Jin turn around in suprise.

"W-what?"

"Uhh... yeah. We worked it out. H-he uhhh... had some reasons, shitty reasons, but valid I suppose, to push me away and uhhh... we got past them, I guess." Taehyung explained with a flustered face, looking straight at the floor.

"Valid reasons?" Jin asked cautiously.

"Yeah.. stupid, valid reasons, for his side atleast. But it's ok now."

"And you are ok with this?"

"Oh hyung!! I'm more than ok with this. I have never been this happy hyung." Taehyung whispered, finally looking at Jin.

Jin could see his brother's eyes shining with happiness and felt himself finally at peace. It was pure hell to see his baby brother suffering but not being able to do anything.

"I'm happy for you Tae bear. I hope he won't hurt you again." Jin said with a soft smile.

"Oh you know he won't. Everyone knows."

"I have to agree. He's something else."

"That he is. Good night hyung."

"Good night Tae."

Taehyung went to his bed after doing his night routine. As he slowly fell asleep, he thought about all that happened today and really felt the happiest in his life so far.

Tomorrow is going to be a new beginning and Taehyung could hardly wait.
