This chapter is dedicated to @brokenrecords7, who made the beautiful character aesthetic for Ally as well as one for James, and a beautiful cover which can all be seen in my Instagram highlights on my profile @notmayasummers ! Thank you again <3

This is also literally the most random thing but while I was writing the last scene, I listened to Stubborn Love by The Lumineers and it was the most perfect song to match the mood. Try it out if ya wanna :)
Kindly point out any spelling or grammatical errors, and enjoy Chapter 28 PART 2!
...
Beth stands outside with her eyes wide and her jaw hanging open.
I blink, taking a deep breath to try and control my heart pacing at an ungodly rate, but it doesn't help. Of course, the day I spontaneously drive past their house after not coming for a year would be the day I come face-to-face with the living carbon copy of her brother.
She looks exactly like Justin, save for a few differences. Her eyes share the same brown eyes as his, along with the prominent facial structure. The most recent difference seems to be that she's dyed her hair to a stone blonde as opposed to her dark chocolate colour, tied up into a messy bun on top of her head.
She takes a step toward me, and it takes a few seconds for me to come back to reality. I hesitantly get out of the Audi and walk up to her, remaining a good few feet away from her.
"Ally," Beth lets out a breath.
"Hey, Beth. It's good to see you," I crack a nervous smile.
"You too. It's been a while."
"Yep." I pop the 'p' sound at the end. I sigh, desperate to ease the tension between us.
"So," Beth drags the word before speaking again. "What are you doing this side of the world?"
"Well I had the week off so I thought I'd spend it with my family, you know. I haven't been in LA in a while and I felt guilty, not coming down so I thought I'd surprise them. It was really cute actually; they had no idea'."
"I actually meant what are you doing on this side of the world as in, what are you doing outside my house?" she chuckles slightly. "But that's great to hear."
"Oh," a blush creeps up onto my face at the act of being caught essentially stalking. "I... well, I was in the area to get some burgers and thought I'd just take this road, I guess. Unintentionally, obviously."
Beth flashes me a sneaky smile, "No, of course. So, completely intentionally then?"
"100%," I admit eventually, before we both begin laughing.
"How are you?" I ask her, crossing my arms over each other.
"I'm, uh," she pulls her sleeves over her hands and plays with the hem, "I'm good, actually. Thanksgiving break gives me some time to come back home for a few days."
"You're at UCLA, right?"
What am I saying? Of course she does. Bella told you, and she's got the fucking sweatshirt on. Dumbass.
Beth cracks (what looks like) a genuine smile, probably at my idiocy before nodding her head. "Yeah I am. It's my first year."
"What are you studying?"
"Well, I originally wanted Marine Biology, but obviously... things changed and the old man won't be able to handle Walt Global for much longer, so I transferred to Business Studies at the last minute," she sighs, smiling. "It's not my first choice, but Pops would be distraught if this business didn't run on Van Der Walt blood anymore so I made the decision for myself."
