I stir in my bed as I feel an arm wrap around my waist from behind me. Instinctively, I turn around with my eyes still closed and nuzzle my head into his chest, inhaling the sweet smell of his bare skin. I feel a kiss being planted on my head and I smile with my head turned away from his face.
"Good morning baby," the voice of an angel sleepily utters.
"Good morning," I smile, nuzzling further into him as his grip around my waist tightens.
Unable to shake the butterflies in my stomach, I open my eyes and tilt my head up in an attempt to kiss him, however my smile quickly fades as I see his face blue and lifeless. His eyes are closed and his lips are slightly parted.
Suddenly, my breathing hitches and I feel lightheaded. He's dead.
I try and untangle myself from his grip but his muscular arms overpower my flailing ones.
"Justin, JUSTIN, let go of me!" I quicken my movements in a desperate attempt to be let out of his iron grip.
"Justin, I'm begging you. Please let me go," I feel the tears running down my face as I realize that my fighting attempts are not helping in the least.
Suddenly, my life flashes before my eyes when I hear the click of a gun to take it off of safety mode. I barely have time to comprehend what's happening before the shrilling sound of a gunshot vibrates through me and sends a shooting pain through my sternum—
Crying out in fear, I jump to sit up from my bed as I try and catch my breath, checking my arms for the aftermath bruises from the terrifyingly realistic nightmare I just woke up from. When I realize that my skin is clear from any marks, I run my fingers through my hair as I allow my heart rate to slowly return back to normal. I pick up my phone to check the time: 3:16am. I set it back onto the nightstand and lay back in my bed, pulling the sheets all the way over my head. Needless to say, I don't get much sleep again that morning.
