"What!" Esther yelled, "Why do I have to marry your betrothed?"
"I'm resigning from my position as the heir to the throne," Olivia stated
"But that doesn't explain why I have to marry your betrothed?"
"You and your sister, Elliana have caught everyone's attention including my betroth, so it'll make it easier for me to resigned,"
"But why me? And nobody else?" Esther asked
"Your the only person I can trust even I have something that I know you've been wanting," Olivia stated
Esther stared at her then at her mothers portrait. 'What should I do?'
"You can think about it, but I'll need an answer soon,"
"By when?"
"When I request your audience. I do hope you accept my proposal. For the meantime, you can take this journal," Olivia handed Esther a journal
"Is that all you wanted?" Esther asked, looking at the journal
"Yes, I may be being insensitive to you, but understand I never wanted to be Queen or royalty,"
"You need a scrapgoat to get your freedom and that's me," Esther said
"You understand, good," Olivia grabbed the painting and placed it back in its spot
"What will your parents say when they find out?" Esther asked, "They wouldn't let you get away with it,"
"And who do you think has been taking care of the kingdom. You may think, my parents, but you are mistaken," Olivia looked at Esther, "Me and Lukas have been taking care of the kingdom since my mother went haywire and my father went awol when someone took his attention,"
"The King and Queen aren't well. I didn't expect that," Esther blew out a breath
"Now, you know more information, so you better think carefully on your answer. I'll have a carriage take you back home," Olivia said, walking to the door, "It was nice meeting you, Esther. I do hope you understand even were family,"
Esther stood there and looked around her. 'What should I do?' Esther let out a sigh and walked out of the room, holding the journal close to her.
"Esther? What are you doing here?" Esther turned around and saw Lukas walking towards her
"Oh, h- hello, Prince Lukas," Esther crusty
"Esther, you don't have to do that. Your my friend. Now, why are you here?"
"Anastasios told you, so I don't know why I should remind you, but I will. Your sister, Princess Olivia called for my audience," Esther said
"What did she want?" Lukas asked
"Nothing much. Just wanted to show me something and talk," Esther lied
"For just a few minutes," Lukas raised his eyebrow
"Yes and I'm not complaining. I have to go. Goodbye Lukas," Esther crusty and turned around to walk off
Lukas grabbed her hand, "Don't go. Let's spend time with each other
"Are you sure, Lukas? Even I don't know if I'll want to stay,"
"Because of my father, right?" Lukas said, frowning
"I'm sorry, Lukas. I do want to hang out with you, but I have to be cautious. Next time, okay?" Esther smiled, apologetic
Lukas frowned, "Then let's walk around town if you don't want to be at the palace,"
"Lukas, I can't do that. Don't you have duties that need to be done?" Esther asked
