Esther let out a shaky breath, her hands shaking as she stared at the box on the counter. Princess Olivia's messenger sent the box late at night as Esther sent a letter stating that she needed the dress to be sent during the night so her family wouldn't be suspicious of her and Olivia. She should've been used to this since she signed and agreed to this, but it was exhausting as she had to keep it a secret and scary.
Esther undid the bow and carefully took the dress out. She forgot how to breath and fell to the ground. Her body shaking and her eyes welling with tears.
"W-why...?" Esther cried out as she stared at the dress
The dress was white, like... a wedding dress. The dress was puffy, the sleeves sheer but tight at the wrist. There were designs on it, but it didn't erase the fact that it was a wedding dress.
Esther left the dress on her lap as she grabbed the box, dropping it to the ground and looking through it, seeing a letter. She ripped it open, reading it,
'I hope you like the dress. It'll look perfect on you, so I hope to see you wear this tomorrow night. - Olivia'
Esther dropped the letter, her breathing getting more rapid. She looked through the box again, seeing a small box. She carefully picked it up and slowly opened it. She pushed it away from her when she saw the tiara. She shoved everything back into the box. She picked it up, walking out of the kitchen and setting it down on the front counter beside the cash register. She picked up the telephone, dialing in numbers to call Olivia. No one picked up. Esther bite her lip, trying to think of something. She grabbed the box and walked out from behind the counter and to the front door. She set the box down, putting her coat on, running up the stairs and putting on the right shoes. She needed to leave, she had to confront Olivia. She picked up the box and left the cafe, making sure to lock it behind her. The night was cold and there was a fog. People were walking from a night out or from work, but Esther didn't pay them any attention. The wind started to pick up and dropped Esther's hat, she bent down and put it back on.
"Why is this happening to me?" Esther whimpered, "I just wanted to save my mother's legacy and to keep my family happy, but why...,"
Esther wiped her tears, hugged the box to her and carried on, just wanting to get everything over with. Esther stood out front of the palace gates. She turned around and walked along the wall, finding the hole, Lukas told her about. She pushed the box in first and followed after. She kept an eye on her surroundings, trying not to get caught by the palace guards, but unfortunately, luck wasn't on her side. Esther bumped into a back, stumbling back, she was caught.
"Who are you? And how did you get in here?" The palace guards asked, tightening his grip on her wrist
"I-I'm Esther. I'm here to see her royal highness, Princess Olivia. I came- Ahh!" Esther cried out as the guard twisted her wrist, making her drop the box
