The sun hasn't yet risen, but I'm fully awake. Maghapon akong nakatulog kahapon tapos natulog ulit ako ng gabi kaya madaling araw akong nagising. Umakyat ako sa rooftop ng faculty building at tumambay. Kailangan ko ng sariwang hangin lalo na ngayong magulo ang isipan ko.
Iniisip ko si Natalia Valhalla at si Nurse Aldous, dagdag mo pa na may nakita akong hindi ko matukoy kung ano. Part ba siya ng past ko o imahinasyon ko lang? I don't know.
"Good morning," a familiar firm voice greeted me. Ramdam ko ang presensya niya mula sa likod ko. I pretended that I didn't hear anything.
"Jayshie, I'm sorry." His firm voice turned into a sincere one, and he hugged me from the back. Agad kong binaklas ang kamay niyang nakapulupot sa bewang ko.
"What do you want?" I queried in a cold voice.
"I'm sorry, okay?" he said, annoyed. Kasalanan niya pero siya ang galit? That's not awesome! Bakit parang ako may may kasalanan? I just kept quiet and rolled my eyeballs upright. Hindi ko siya papansinin, bahala siya sa buhay niya.
"Don't be mad at me. I brought what you're asking for from Abby," he stated. Pumunta siya sa harap ko at hinawakan ang pisngi. Marahan kong tinabig ang kamay niya at inilahad ang palad ko.
"Fuck!" he cussed in pain. Nanlaki ang mata ko ng makitang may benda ang kamao niya.
"Aish!" sinamaan ko siya ng tingin at kinuha ang kamao niya. Unti-unting kumalat ang pulang dugo sa puting benda. Marahil ay bumukas ang sugat niya sa pagkakatabig ko pero mahina lang 'yun ah! Napaka-sensitive niya naman.
Lihim akong ngumiti. It's like I'm hitting two birds with one stone. I have freaking Natalia Valhalla's information and the reason to see Nurse Aldous. I just wanted to ask him about what he said yesterday.
"Let's go to the clinic." I grabbed his wrist and started to walk. Huminto ako ng hindi man lang siya gumalaw.
"I can manage," he said submissively, pulling me over.
"No, you can't. Let's go to the clinic. We need to see nurse Aldous," I insisted and pulled him. Bakit ba hindi na lang siya makisama besides, it's for his own good.
"I'm fine, Jayshie." He is persistent. Ayaw niyang pumunta ng clinic? Fine! As if namang pinipilit ko siya.
"Fine!" Naiinis kong binitawan ang pulsuhan niya. "Where's the file?" I changed the topic and lent my hand.
"I will give it to you, but promise me one thing," he bargained. Anong promise? Ano kami bata?
"What is it?" I inquired desperately and crossed my arms. I tried to act normal, but my voice was desperate. He's going to use my desperation to get what he wants.
"Tell me everything and promise me that you won't do anything stupid. Now, promise me. Take the oath," he ordered me and stood prominently.
"I promise that I will tell everything, no less, no more. Is that okay?" I raised my left eyebrow and asked him in a sassy tone.
"Good." He nodded and unzipped his bag. I smirked when he gave me a folder, and I immediately grabbed it.
"Don't forget that promises are meant to be broken, Zhask. Goodbye and see you around." Tinalikuran ko siya at bumaba ng rooftop. Bumalik ako sa dorm para maghanda sa klase.
