Chapter Thirty Two

6 months later December 24th...
I woke up with Steve's arms wrapped around my stomach I cuddled closer to him and his warm embrace made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I ended up falling back asleep and only woke up when I felt Steve playing with my hair while I slept. "G'morning Babydoll." He said as I smiled looking up at him. "Good morning honey." I said kissing him and laying back down. We laid there for a couple minutes cuddling before getting up for the day. I put on a half green and red lace dress, we were going to go over to my brothers later for a little Christmas Eve party. I made biscuits and gravy one of Steve's favorites and set the final present under the tree while he wasn't watching, after I cleaned up breakfast we finished putting up ornaments and got the presents in the car for there tree. The baby was kicking a lot today and I was very uncomfortable for how fun this day was supposed to be. We arrived and the whole gang was there and we celebrated with cookies and cake and Christmas movies. Pony, and Johnny got to open a present early. Pony got some books and Johnny got a new jean jacket. Everybody laughed and joked the whole time. The baby was kicking even harder. "Steve the babies kicking real hard I think we should head home I need to rest." I said laying my head on his shoulder. "You sure babydoll." He said rubbing my arm. "Ya I'm sorry baby, you can drop me off and come back." I said rubbing my head into his arm. "No baby I wouldn't leave you alone on Christmas, we can have our own little party at home." He said kissing my forehead. "Alright guys we're gonna head out." Steve said sitting up. "Aw c'mon why so early." Soda said looking confused. "The babies kicking more than normal y/n's just uncomfortable don't worry." Steve said smiling and helping me up. "I'm really sorry guys." I said standing up. "Don't be I'll see you two out." Darry said opening the door. Him and Steve helped me to the car because of how bad my back ached. "I'm sorry baby." He Steve said starting the car. "No don't be I'm sorry it's Christmas Eve and your not able to celebrate because of me." I said looking down at my stomach and rubbing it. He put his hand my stomach and rubbed it. "In a week we'll have a new addition and you won't have to worry about this anymore." He said smiling and kissing my cheek. I giggled and we pulled into the driveway. He helped me inside and we relaxed on the couch watching Christmas movies. The baby wouldn't stop kicking and I was getting tired of this dress being so tight so I decided to take a warm bath to relax my muscles. I got ready to lay down into the bath when I felt something on my leg. "What the." I said looking down...water. I stopped for a second. "WATER!" I said a little to loud. "You ok baby." Steve said from the other side of the door. "St-Steve...I th-think my w-water br-broke." I said stepping out of the bathtub and wrapping my river around me. It went silent for a second. "Bu-but your not due for an-another week." Steve said from behind the door.  "Steve..." I said opening the door. "I think it's- Agh!." I said bending over as a contraction started. Steve helped me up and helped me into the room I changed into a t-shirt and a pair of his sweatpants. He ran and grabbed the baby bag and helped me out the door. We got in the car and he sped off to the hospital. We got up to the emergency room and Steve helped me inside, it was surprisingly busy for Christmas Eve. We signed in and they quickly got a wheel chair and took both of us up to the maternity ward.
2 hours later...
"You did it." Steve was saying through the tears. I was still shaking from the shock of it all. I could tears on my cheeks and he wiped them away, his hands were shaking. The nurse opened the door and came back in holding the baby the nurse turned around to close the door slowly. As she turned around I saw a flash of pink, my eyes teared up and I covered my mouth and let out a cry as she placed her on my chest. "Sh-shes per-perfect." I said as I moved the blanket away from her face. "She's m-more then per-perfect." Steve said rubbing his finger on her head. "Belle." I said looking down at her tiny hands. "I don't know." Steve said looking at her intently. "Well, shes our little Christmas miracle..." he said rubbing her little hand. "Noelle." I said just blurring it out not even thinking about it. I looked over at Steve and he had tears in his eyes. "No-noelle is perfect." He said kissing my forehead. "Just like her." I said snuggling her close.
The next day...
We woke up early around 5, since there was no complications and I had a natural birth the doctors released me to go home. I had a couple painkillers in me and I didn't have much trouble walking like some women do so we decided we would still go to my brothers for Christmas and surprise them. Steve ran into the house and got the blanket Johnny picked out for her including a red outfit and the baby bag, not forgetting the last of the presents under the tree. There was some snow on the ground since it snowed last night and the sky was a grayish color. We arrived at the house and I took Noelle and waited beside the door while Steve carried an armful of presents inside. "Aye Steve, where's y/n." Darry said coming over and helping him carry the presents. "Oh she's getting the last present." He said with a little laugh. "Man do you look tired." Pony said slapping Steve on the back. With a laugh. "Ya well that last present kept me up all night." He said smiling. "What..." pony said confused. "You'll see...hey Y/n you coming." He said acting like he was hollering out to the car then turning and winking at me. I smiled and kissed Noelles forehead she was sleeping peacefully. I acted like I was carrying something heavy inside. "oh *hmph* thanks for the help." I said, letting out a laugh, Darry came to help and I whirled around revealing Noelle. Darrys jaw dropped and there were tears in his eyes. Everybody else was still talking. Two looked at me. "Holy Shi-." He said standing up and covering his mouth. "Two what are you talk-." Soda saw Noelle. "Is-is That-." I shook my head yes and he got up almost running over to me. "Boy or girl." He said as I laid her in his arms. "Girl, her names Noelle." I said as Steve wrapped his arm around me. Darry walked over with tears in his eyes and hugged me tightly. Soda was cooing at Noelle with tears forming in his eyes. Soda passes Noelle to Darry so Soda could take a moment to breathe. Darry held her close and cuddled her, he looked all soft when he was holding a baby. Two was scared to hold her so he just played with her while I held her. I went and sat in between Johnny and Pony. "Hey that's the blanket I chose." Johnny said smiling. "It seemed fitting, it's like your Christmas present to her." I said handing Noelle to Johnny. Johnny was beaming when he held Noelle, it's like he had no care in the world when he held her. Pony was the last person to hold her and he enjoyed every second of it. Afterwards we all opened presents and watched Christmas movies and specials on tv. Steve was sitting next to soda and they played with Noelle. We had to head home to get Noelle ready for bed. "We're gonna headout we need to get Noelle to bed." I said standing up and hugging everybody. Steve handed Noelle to me and we walked out the front door. Once we got home I changed Noelle and laid her down in the crib and sang to her while she fell asleep. Steve came up behind me and rubbed my waist. "Best Christmas present I could ever ask for." He said kissing my cheek. "You and me both." I said laying my head on his shoulder. He bent down and kissed her forehead and we walked back to the bedroom. I fell asleep fast I was pretty worn out from yesterday and I never recovered from the lack of sleep. She slept like a rock which she gets from her father cause I'm a light sleeper, and so we slept through the night most of the time. I fell asleep with Steve's arms wrapped around me and his head resting behind my neck, this is what Christmas should feel like.
