The next day at school seemed normal at first. Skittle sat at her group's table as usual. Because a year had passed, she had gotten used to her new group. She still hated Casper though. He was always mean to her no matter what she did.
"Hey, Skittle!" Izzy shouted, running into the classroom, her school bag over her shoulder.
"Hi, Izzy!" Skittle shouted back, then they ran up to each other and did their best friends handshake.
"How are you?" Izzy asked.
'I'm fine. How are you?" Skittle said.
"Oh, I'm fine too. I'm just a bit tired from walking to school." Izzy replied.
"Ah. It's kind of bad that you had to start walking to school." Skittle said.
Skittle went to school by car every morning, so she had never walked to school. Izzy, on the other hand, had to walk all the way from her house to school. Skittle had found out that Izzy lived right next door to Tara's old house, so she could go and visit her whenever she wanted.
"Yeah, I know." Izzy said.
The two best friends then sat down in their seats and waited for the lessons to start. The teacher went to the front of the class and waved so that all of the children would turn to face the front.
"Good morning, children! Did we all have a good weekend?" she boomed.
"Yes, miss." everyone chorused.
"Good. Well, I'm sure that morning maths is even more fun than what you all did at the weekend!" the teacher said, smiling brightly.
"No!" everyone yelled.
"Well, you have to do your maths, or you won't be able to count your money in the future." the teacher told the class.
"Maths is still boring." Casper muttered under his breath.
"Okay, who will give out the maths books?" the teacher asked.
"Me!" Izzy and Skittle exclaimed at the same time.
"Izzy and Skittle, you can give them out." the teacher said.
The two ten-year-old girls high-fived and gave the books out quickly.
"Can everyone turn to page twelve, please?" the teacher called out.
Izzy and Skittle groaned. This morning was going to be boring.
