Monday Blues

Jo's pov

I wake up nauseous again uggh morning sickness sucks. I notice Hero is not in the bed with me and look at my phone for the time it's already 9:30am and my Drs appointment to check on the baby is at 11am. Sighing I get out of bed and head to the bathroom to take a quick shower. I brush my teeth and get dressed in a flowy white dress with my white flats and apply a little makeup. As I head downstairs I hear Hero talking with Mercy and Felix. I walk in the kitchen and they all stop talking and look at me. "Hey love good morning" Hero says coming over and giving me a hug and kiss. "What where you all talking about?" I ask him curiously. "What? Oh nothing just chatting" he says shrugging. He changes the subject and says "you need to eat babe we have to leave soon for the appointment." He passes me a plate of blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage. Mercy smiles at me as I eat she says "we need to do a gender reveal oh and then a baby shower." "Ok calm down sis we have a few more months for all that" Hero says laughing. I finish my food and Hero goes to grab my plate but I glare at him as I swat his hand away saying "I'm pregnant not handicapped" and I get up to put the plate in the dishwasher. "You nervous mate" Felix asks Hero as we get ready to leave. "More like excited" he says giddily. I smile at him as we say goodbye and hold hands walking to his car. We drive to the Drs office and Hero has the biggest smile on his face as he opens my door and says "here we go beautiful." "Your awfully mushy today your losing your edge" I say giggling. We get into the waiting room and Hero leans down and whispers in my ear"Should I fuck you in the car after" as he grabs my ass. "Hero" I say smacking his arm looking around to make sure no one heard him. A guy behind us has a smirk and just looks at me and then he gives Hero a thumbs up. Hero laughs as I blush and hide my face from embarrassment. "Go sit down" I scold him as he holds me closer he laughs saying "what just had to show you I haven't lost my edge." I swat his arm as he goes and sits down I notice a pregnant girl staring at him and licking her lips. Calm down girl he's mine. Plus your freaking pregnant and can clearly see he's here with me have you no shame. I quickly register at the front desk and go and sit near Hero as he grabs my hand he kisses it and smiles at me. I glare at the girl who quickly looks away making me Hero chuckle. He leans over and whispers "good thing you came over here love before I told that chick off she practically undressed me with her eyes." I'm about to get up and tell this bitch off when the door opens and the nurse says "Ms. Langford please." I get up with Hero and we walk into the hall as the nurse leads us into a room. She has me sit on the bed and grabs my blood pressure and temperature. She then takes my weight writing it all down on her note pad. "Dr. Mara will be in here in a few minutes Ms. Langford" she says smiling as she heads out the door. Hero holds me as he caresses my cheek he gives me a kiss and then I hear a knock on the door as I say "come in" the Dr. walks through the door with the ultrasound machine. "Nice to meet you Ms. Langford I'm Dr. Mara and I will be taking care of you through out your pregnancy" she says greeting me. "It's nice to meet you as well" I say to her. She turns to Hero and says "and this must be the daddy am I right." "Yes, yeah I'm the daddy" Hero says smiling. He holds my hand as the Dr. spreads the cold gel on my belly and spreads the wand around. "Ok let's see your baby" she says excitedly. I stare at the screen as the image comes up of our little bean. I glance at Hero whose got tears in his eyes and his mouth is wide open in awe.  "That's our baby" I say as I glance at the Dr. I see her eyebrows are furrowing and she has a concerned look on her face her mouth is in a straight line not smiling but not frowning either. "Is something wrong?" I ask her nervously. Hero grips my hand and looks at the Dr. as she puts the wand down he frantically says "can you please fucking answer her. Is our baby ok?" She looks at us and she says "everything looks ok so far I'm just a little concerned about the amniotic fluid around the baby it seems a little thin." "What does that mean?" I ask her crying. "It means you need to take it easy the next few weeks. We will give you some medicine to strengthen it and if that doesn't work you might miscarry and there is a chance of fetal abnormalities" she informs me. "Oh my God I can lose our baby" I sob as Hero holds onto me he is crying as well. What if I lose our baby will he still want me? God please I can't lose my sweet baby.  "We will do everything we can to make sure that doesn't happen love" he says in between sobs as he caresses my cheek. As the Dr. leaves to go grab my prescription I wipe the gel off my belly and sit up and hold onto Hero as I continue to cry. "Don't cry anymore love please I hate seeing you like this" he says pleadingly. "Hero what if we lose the baby?" I ask him. "Don't think like that we need to think positive" he says giving me a kiss. The Dr. comes back in and says to Hero "she needs to get a lot of rest for one week and have her take these medications at the same time everyday with food and drink plenty of fluids. Then we will check her again in one week. I was going to go for two weeks but I see how anxious you guys are and I don't want to prolong any stress so I already made you guys a follow up appointment for next Monday same time." I give her a small smile as we get up to leave. "Thank you Dr. Mara I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier" Hero says to her. "It's ok I get it" she says. We leave the hospital holding hands as we drive home I run my hand over my belly and send a silent prayer for God to keep my baby safe.
