I ran to Sir Peterwood's office. When I opened the door at an ajar, I noticed that there was no light in his room. I got in and found Sir Peterwood working closely on something.
Men like him will make this organization a success, unlike some other men like Jason, whose dearest hobby is bossing other people around.
"Sir Peterwood?" I called him. And it seemed like my call startled him. "I am really sorry if I startled you." I apologized quickly. "No, no, no. I get it. I was informed of your arrival. But I didn't expect it to be this fast." He said.
"I am sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you. Maybe I will come some other time, or just sent me the word when you are free?" I asked, hoping he would tell no. "No, that wouldn't be needed. But, you don't mind switching on the lights do you?" He asked and I smiled.
"Sure. No problem." I said and got up to turn on the lights. After I did, I walked back to Sir Peterwood and sat across him. "Actually, by the past circumstances back then, I thought someone else would take your place." He said.
"You mean Claire." I said.
"Well yeah. But I am still confused. We, the W.O.O.S, was an organization that wanted to stay in the shadows. Or more correctly, protect from the shadows. But when you, an Esther lady, the daughter of a prominent citizen, I still don't understand." Sir Peterwood said.
"My father and Uncle Watson are what you would call old chaps." I said. "Ah... now it makes sense. A friend in need, is a friend indeed." He said and I nodded.
"But to be truthful, I can't imagine a rich lady without being arrogant, and not to mention, an Esther." He said.
"A trait of my mother." I said. "I thought you would say your father's name." He said. "Why?" I asked. "Because I have seen your mother." I chuckled."That's not my mother. She is my step-mom." I said. He looked shocked for a moment, and then smiled. "At what age?" He asked.
"Some days since my start of remembrance." I said. "Have you seen her? Like really seen her, not in just pictures?" He asked. "Yeah. I have seen her. But since she died, that topic was like banned in my household." I said.
"I can understand. Your father must have been devastated." He said. "Yes, and also due to my grandparent's force on him to second marry." I said. "Must have been a crazy time." He said. "I didn't even get to talk to him for a week or two." I said and he nodded. "
Wait, are we really talking about my family here?" I asked. "It somehow came this way" He smiled.
"You know what?" He suddenly asked.
"What?"
"To be the personal secretary of C.E.O's son, is just like being with the C.E.O's son, on the same board here. What I am telling you is, you have to be alert, like 24/7, even for the time when you are in the company, many can keep their eyes on you, and your one action can cause a huge difference, it can be good or..." He lowered his voice.
"A crisis." He said.
"Thank you, for that piece of advice. I was alert, like any newbie would be. New surroundings, new atmosphere. But still, I am my father's daughter." I smiled.
"Wow. I am sure, you father will be happy to hear this." He said. "Yes. And again, we are back at my family." I said and he laughed.
"But you know, being his secretary is pure luck. You know girls had been competing for this." He said. "Girls?" I asked.
"Below the C.E.O and Sir Jason, there are many important old men, including me, who gave their daughter's or grand daughter's name for being Sir Jason's P.A. And at last, the one who didn't give any name, or, didn't even know of the situation got the position." He said.
