We reached the villa soon, and because if my habit of not talking in any vehicle, we dint talk much.
When we knocked on the door, a woman, maybe in her 40s welcomed us. "Oh my. Welcome, Young Master." She greeted. "Oh, how are you, Mrs. Sullivan?" He asked. "Seriously talking, you could have given this lady a little more time to work. You don't know how fast we worked. "She said. She then looked at me. "Oh, you must me, our Young Master's Personal Assistant, or as he put it, Personal Secretary." She said. I chuckled lightly. "So, your daughter?" I asked. "Oh, you mean Dakota. She's working here. You can't expect this old lady to work this fast." She said. Suddenly, her face changed like she remembered something. "Oh my, what am I doing? I can't believe that I even forgot basic manners. Please come inside, Young Master and Young Master's P.S." She said.
"We will bring the drinks to you in a short while." She said and we nodded. We both sat on the sofa.
"Now, you can start explaining." He said. I took out my tab. Dave had emailed me all the pictures.
I took the first picture. "Hey, this means that the thieves are not as cool as me." He said. "Jason, thieves don't come for showing off. They come for stealing, and they don't care, which way they choose, as long as they get what they want." I said.
"What are you telling?" He asked. "That guy told that there were many recent robberies, right. This proves the explanation. They weren't targeting anything else. All the while, your gem was their only target." I said. I then took the next picture.
"Wait, they were staying there the whole time?" I asked. "Explains their lack of security system." I said. "God, those men, they thought nothing will come out. Their secret will as good as buried and look here. They weren't even doing their job properly." He said, getting angrier with each passing second. "There there there." I hugged him properly. "We can go tomorrow itself and take your gem." I said. "But you have your class tomorrow." He said. "Then go by yourself." I said. "But there is no fun without you." He said. "Really Jason? Stop acting like a kid." I said.
"Y-y-young M-master?" We both heard a stammering sound and turned. We found a girl, Dakota Sullivan, standing there with a tray. Her hands were shaking.
"Are you okay?" I asked. "Yeah, just a little headache." She said. "It's alright. You can leave." Jason said. I took the tray from her hand and kept it on the table.
Then Mrs. Sullivan came running to Dakota. "Are you okay?" Mrs. Sullivan asked and Dakota nodded. "You both are dismissed." Jason said and Mrs. Sullivan nodded and left.
He then turned to me. "So...?" He asked. "Ah, yes." I aid and took the next picture. "This... he was speechless."
"This was the sign I found engraved on the walls." I said. "I think this sign means something." He said. "Two black stars on the moon, and a white one outside?" I asked. "Yeah, it may be like the two ones, on the moon, with black are always in front of us. And the white one, the sovereign mastermind is someone, who is working in the shadows, or," He stopped there. "Whose identity is in the shadows?" I asked.
"Yeah, that counts too. But the thing is who will risk it. I think the person is in the shadows too." He said. "Well, let's hope that he decides to take a walk out." I said. "Hope that the supreme mastermind will risk getting caught, for a walk in the sun?" He asked. "Well, jock of the month for spies." I said and she shook his head, slightly smiling.
"Do you think the crescent moon gives out a meaning?" I asked. "Yeah. There was this superstition that people believed, and some still believe that, when crescent moon appears, they have to stop trying, because whatever they do won't bear the fruit of benefit. It will go waste." He said. "So, it's a warning too." I said and he nodded.
"So, in the meeting?" I asked. "Don't talk about deciphering the meaning. We need that, whoever he or she is, to think that they are still far behind." He said and I nodded. "What about Uncle?" I asked. "If father will have something to ask, he will know better than to ask in the crowd. And if he asks, then we will tell." He said and I nodded.
Suddenly he pulled me in. "Jason! What are you doing?!" I asked. "It's just the two of us?" He said. "Jay?" I called him while moving my hands through his hair. "Can we sit like this for some time?" He asked. "Remember, I am having a date." I said, while definitely it will kill the mood.
