School. Something that the kids had heard Frisk, Flowey, and even Toriel visit frequently. No one really knew what it was, though Via and Frisk both claimed it was a place of learning. That was what the tests were for. That was what the kids were told. And now the children would finally get to experience this strange place for themselves.
"Alright children! Does everyone have their buddy?" Toriel watched as the children began to pour out of the car, each scrambling to get to their assigned partner as quickly as they could. Only Via took her time as she waited for Frisk to stand by her. However, another kid had decided to cling to her as well, and that kid had quickly gotten Toriel's attention. "Vera, we've talked about this."
"But why can't we at least walk together before class?!" Vera only clung to Via tighter, the kid determined to stick by her friend.
"Because Via, Frisk, and Flowey go to a different school," Toriel explained. "Vera, you and most of your friends are elementary schoolers, meaning you will be attending Ebott Elementary. Via, Frisk, and Flowey, however, are middle schoolers, so they will be attending Southeast Middle, which is right down the street." The monster then looked towards the larger school building adjacent to the one they stood by, Vera staring at it before angrily scuffing her shoe on the pavement.
"So not fair..." the child grumbled, Toriel then leaning down to gently pat her head.
"Do not worry, my child. We will see her at the end of school today, alright?"
Taking a moment to think, the girl slowly released Via's arm, only to then mumble an, "Alright," as she crossed her arms.
"Good. Now please go join Gabriel as his buddy." Toriel then watched as the huffy child went to stand by the curly-haired boy, only to then kneel down and open her arms for a hug from the middle school group. Needless to say, that was exactly what she got, for Frisk was quick to drag Via into the hug, and Flowey already didn't have a choice to begin with. "Have a good day, you three. Be good, alright?"
"We'll be good!" Frisk promised, the boy then pulling away before taking Via's arm with his free hand. "Come on! Let's get to class!" And so, the children hurried off.
It didn't take long to arrive at Southeast Middle though, considering how close it was to Ebott Elementary. One quick jog and already, the children were there, though Via was a tad winded considering how heavy her backpack was.
"Okay! We're at the building! Uh... need anything help?"
"I've got it," Via insisted, the girl taking a moment to breathe as Flowey rolled her eyes.
"Idiot. I thought living in the woods made you stronger!" the flower chastised, Via readjusting her glasses as she glared at him.
"These supplies are ridiculously heavy. It's not my fault."
"Yeah, well-"
"Entering the school now!" Frisk wasn't in the mood for an argument, and his method of stopping it was apparently to throw open the doors and march on into the building.
Via's response to that of course was to merely wait and catch her breath, only to then sigh as she too finally entered the school. As expected, the place was rather large and intimidating, and all of these children swarming the place certainly didn't help. It only got worse as a bus rolled up to let more children out, those children flooding through the entrance and nearly trampling Via, who had quickly moved aside to where Frisk was. "...This place is huge."
