Rachel.
When I almost reach the ballroom, a voice from behind startles me and nearly knocks the dear life out of me. The voice was so near my right ear, that I could feel the other person's breath on my face when he whispered.
"Caught you."
"Ahaaa." I scream to the best of my ability, keeping both my hands to my ears.
When I turn around to have a good look at the source of interruption I am speechless.
Remo? What is he doing out here? And..and what the hell does he mean by caught me? Why...should he catch hold of me? Am I in serious trouble? No! No! The last thing I want now is Remo showing a bullet right through my hard skull.
Remo finds it really hard to contemplate what absurdity I was doing and quickly wraps his hand around my mouth.
"Quiet lady. What are you? The siren of an ambulance?" He eyes me suspiciously.
"Mmm....mmm." I speak in a muffled voice while his hand is still covering my mouth.
"Eh? What's up with you lately?" He questions me, with his eyes narrowed. And he immediately removes his hand from my mouth to continue with my speech.
"What are you doing here?" I ask him out of pure curiosity. If he was to find me and dada....No! I don't even want to think about the possibility of him pulling a trigger directly through my skull. Quickly the image of the mayor comes up in my mind and I am quick to gulp down the saliva formed in my throat.
"You are for sure lost in thoughts my lady." He tells.
"Eh?"
"Oofh!." He sighs. "Thank God! I thought that I was never going to find you. Seriously you women need to be quick. Oofh! It felt as if you took all the time on the earth, just to freshen up. Woman!" He rolls his eye at me.
An habit of his to which I am greatly drawn to. Snap it out Rach! Just snap out of it!
"What to do Mr. Rude? Old habits die hard." I am quick to revive myself from the daze.
But what was he doing outside the ballroom?
"What are you doing out here?" I question him.
"It was kind of suffocating inside, so I thought of taking a stroll outside. Mind giving this gentleman a company ?" He winks at me.
"Lead the way gentleman." I shoot back.
Remo directs me to the elevator and presses a button. I couldn't really make out where he was taking me, but for some reasons unknown to me, I had invested a huge amount of faith in this guy.
It is only when the elevator opens and the cool breeze touches my bare shoulders that I realize that we are now standing on the rooftop of a 35 storied building of the hotel. The sight that lay before me was breathtaking.
The entire city was viewed as a speck from above. It was sparkling like diamonds and the moon above shone making my breath stuck in my throat.
"The Moon blushed behind the clouds, the Sun went weak on his knees
The folks below witnessed a doleful love story which would never have a blissful ever after.""Wow." Is the first word to escape from my mouth when I hear Remo quote the above.
When I turn around to look at Remo, he already seemed dazzled by the beauty of the moon and it seemed as if he was already attracted to this mesmerizing beauty.
I walk myself upto Remo and sit down next to him, maintaining quite a safe distance between us.
"The moon never seizes to suprise me." He begins to speak. "It's beauty, it's grace with which it makes itself visible to the people around. It's all praiseworthy. It reminds me of the Widow Dido."
