the rest of the day was uneventful, orders becoming sparse as it was the period of which people returned to their work or school after lunch. you leaned forward on the counter, swirling your new orange lollipop in your mouth in boredom. all of the coffee, creamers, and add ins have already been refilled. all of the mugs and cups have been washed and restocked, and the whip cream was replaced. there was nothing to be done, all the chores had been completed, hell, even the tables were wiped and floors were swept, twice.

you yawned, stretching your arms into the air. "damn, this is such a drag..."

falling out of your open mouth, your orange lollipop crashed to the ground, shattering into little pieces and making you groan. fishing through your front pocket again, you found that you had completely run out of suckers, which was a serious problem since you had a terrible addiction to them. "goddamnit- margo! do we have any suckers in the back?" you shouted into the back room.

"no, we're out!" you heard a voice, most likely margos, yell back.

grumbling, you pulled off your apron and threw it onto the racks, shouting: "im off to go buy some more!" before leaving the cafe.

your black dress pants hugged your legs, the white button up tucked in to your pants having their sleeves rolled up to your elbows. patting your back pocket to check and see if your wallet was there, you stalked off to the candy store, which was a few blocks down from your little cafe.

the door opened with a little jingle, the bell at the doorway ringing lightly and making you smile. the scent of sugar and vanilla swept into your nose, making your tense muscles relax instantly. "welcome to cyber-sugar! how may i help you today?" a black-haired man asked at the counter.

the candy shop had a vaporware theme to it, which was cute, you thought. "im just looking for some suckers, thanks."

"ah!" he gasped, smiling. "i love suckers! they're to your left, next to the rest of the hard candy."

you nodded, shuffling over to the large assortment. a tall girl with extremely long raven hair, dressed in a school girls outfit stood in front of a display case for dark chocolate truffles, eyeing them curiously. giving her a quick greeting, you moved around her and looked at your options for lollipops, the bins they were stored in being a colorful bright blue. rummaging your hand through the candy,  you picked out a handful that you were sure margo would like, which consisted of waffle, lemon, bubblegum, and mystery flavors.

interrupting your candy-picking, the girl you had brushed passed tapped your shoulder, a rather embarrassed expression on her face. "im sorry to bother you, but.. could you maybe help me decide on something?"

you raised an eyebrow, dumping your handful of suckers into the basket you grabbed by the entrance. "what might that be?"

"well," she started, turning to the chocolate display case. "im trying to pick out some chocolates for my... crush, if you will..."

you gasped, giggling madly like a little school girl. "ooh~! how cute! if you're wondering which chocolates to choose, you should go with the caramel ones! or, if you're unsure which ones they like, settle for a mix! then, when they're done, you can see which ones they prefer and dont!"

the girl nodded, smiling at you warmly. "thank you, miss...?"

"oh, you can call me (y/n)!"

"right then, miss (y/n), thank you for the help!"

the smile that split your face shrank to a  smaller one, still holding a warm glow. "its no problem!"

you returned to looking through the suckers, ignoring the feeling of something pricking into your scalp, brushing it off as getting the shivers from the cold. settling on an extremely large assortment of random lollipops, you grabbed a few more candies before stumbling to the cash register, struggling to lift the heavy basket of candy onto the counter. "will that be all?" the cashier asked, tilting his head
