Chapter eleven

Annie's p.o.v

"Look who's awake!" I heard a deep voice say.

Memories from last night flooded back to me. Great! I had been kidnapped! Too bad I couldn't see their faces tho so I could punch them.

"Oh, hello stranger! Can you uncover my eyes? Because I'm warning you: I'm very grumpy in the morning!" I moved my head around cracking my neck.

"You're cute!" He said and I moved my hands through the ropes so I could see how much space I had to work with. Boo, I'm far from cute, I thought to myself.

"Why am I here? What do you want? Money? I have plenty! I'm sure we can come to an agreement." I tried to distract them and heard someone laugh.

"I don't need your money, dollface!" Someone whispered in my ear while caressing my cheek.

"Then what do you need?" I turned to the side.

"I need you to stop asking me all these questions!" He grew frustrated. Good!

"I told you I'm grumpy in the morning!" I pursed my lips.

"Ugh! I can't wait for your boyfriend to come get you!"

"It looks like you have the wrong girl because I'm single!" Damn it! The ropes were too tight.

"I think I told you to stop talking!" I felt him come near me.

"You said and I quote: 'I need you to stop asking me all these questions!" I badly imitated his voice.

"How does Alex put up with you? I'm genuinely curious!" He asked and I rolled my eyes.

"Can you take this blinder off? It's making me sweaty!" I smiled at him.

"Only if you promise to stop talking!" He tried to negotiate.

"Sure buddy! I promise!" I said.

"Well, you heard the lady! Take her blinder off!" I heard him order one of his men and felt the latter come behind me.

"Finally some light!" I smiled observing them.

There were three men here. All of them wearing black suits. The one in front of me, who I assumed was the boss, had brown hair and blue eyes. What caught my eye was a tattoo he had on his left arm. 

It was a scorpion tale! I couldn't see the rest due to his sleeve covering most of it. I must admit, he was hot! But Alex was way hotter than him!

I shook my head! What was wrong with me? Comparing my kidnapper with him? Angela was right! I was definitely crazy!

"Like what you see?" He wiggled his brows at me.

"I have seen better!" I shrugged and he frowned.

"You see, I'm feeling generous today! I'm going to call your boyfriend!" He said and pulled out his phone.

"He's not my boyfriend!" I rolled my eyes at him. 

"Hello!" I heard Alex's voice through the speaker.

"Ah, just the man I wanted to talk to!" The blue eyed man said.

"Is that so?" Alex taunted and I laughed. "What was that?"

"Oh, that was your girlfriend's laugh!" He came face to face with me. "She is beautiful, you know! It will be such a shame to harm her!"

"If you wanted her dead, you wouldn't take the time to warn me that you will do that, now would you?" I could practically feel Alex's smirk through the phone.

"No, I wouldn't! But today might be the last day you hear from her! Who knows? I might make her my wife!" The guy smiled at me at I kicked his nose with my head. "Aaah!"

"By that cracking sound and your scream, I'm guessing she broke your nose!" Alex laughed. "She has quite the strength!"

"Look, if you don't give me what I want by the end of the day, I will gladly kill her and sent you the video!" The man threatened.

"If I don't kill you first, that is!" Alex said and we heard gunshots coming from outside.

"You can't kill me!" The man smiled.

"Who are you?" Alex asked not really interested.

"Why do you care?"

"I don't! Just wanted to know what to put on your tombstone!" Alex kicked open the door to the room I was being held captive and shot the two men.

"There you are!" The man creepily smiled at him. "How's your shoulder?"

"Better than your nose!" Alex pointed a gun at him and smiled towards me.

Shawn came in behind him and untied me. Then, turned to face me.

"Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" He clenched his jaw while observing me.

"No!" I said and hugged him.

"Go outside! Jack will drive you home!" He said.

"What about Alex and you?" I asked. I wasn't going to leave them here alone.

"We'll be right behind you!" He assured me.

"Shawn, get her out of here!" I heard Alex yell.

"Fine! Just so you know, I will kill you myself if either or you comes out with as much of a scratch!" I said and walked out.

The corridor was filled with dead bodies, who I assumed were killed by my cousin and his best friend. I could spot Jack's car from the entrance door.

"Annie! Hurry up!" Jack shouted.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back and then I heard gunshots coming from the room I left. R.I.P blue eyed hottie!

"We were worried sick about you!" Jack pulled me into a tight hug once I reached his car.

"Don't exaggerate! I was barely gone for a day!" I smiled.

"Tell that to Mr. Eight packs over there!" He said pointing towards Alex and Shawn who were leaving the building and coming towards us. "He wanted to come rescue you since last night!"

"That would've been a suicide mission!" I reasoned.

"And yet, he was willing to die for you!" He looked at me.

"I guess he was!" I turned towards Alex and he opened the car door and sat next to me.

"Why are you staring at me?" Alex asked.

"No reason! Just glad you're alright!" I smiled at him.

"Well, you were the one who got kidnapped, so I really should be asking you if you're alright!" He threw one arm around my shoulder.

"I'm good!" I said and rested my head over his chest perfectly hearing his heartbeat.

"Try to get some sleep, okay?" He whispered to my ear and kissed me on top of my head.
