Y/N Pov:

"Hey! Y/N!" I turned around to see my best friend, Jeongyeon, running to catch up to me. A wave of relief rushed over me.

"Thank, goodness. A reason I have to make it through today." Jeongyeon let out a prolonged sigh.

"Dad trouble?" she asked as she threw her arm tightly around my shoulder. She knew me like the back of her hand.

"What else would it be?" I tried to smile, but it felt forced. It was forced.

"You know what? Don't worry about it. Because today, after school, we," she motioned to the two of us, "are gonna have fun. It'll get your mind of that sorry excuse for a dad." Hearing that doesn't change my circumstances, but it's a nice feeling to know someone actually cares.

"So, how about stopping by the smoothie bar after school, and then," she let out a dramatic gasp, "A sleepover at my house?!" She clasped her hands together like a child after their mother hands them a candy bar.

I hesitated for a moment, before responding with, "Sure, why not?" Jeongyeon clapped ecstatically afterwards. I really can never say no to this girl.

Afterall, she's been by my side through thick and thin. She was there before, when, and after he left. She has seen my absolute dark side and has never left my side through any of it. She's the sunshine to my starlight, and she will go through hell if it means making me smile.

Eventually, we made it to Hel- sorry, typo.

Eventually, we made it to school. The walk to school had worn us out; therefore, we decided to sit on one of the benches near the school fountain. I was scrolling through Instagram on my phone and not paying attention to anything or anyone until I felt Jeongyeon rapidly tapping my shoulder.

"Hey! What is it?" I laughed out while playfully pushing her arm away. She motioned over to where someone, presumably a new student, was standing. He was talking to what I assumed was a group of friends. Suddenly, I noticed something out of the ordinary: his backpack. It was a black Nike backpack with glittered unicorn stickers covering the straps.

 Funny, that seems familiar.

FLASHBACK:

"Yo! Give it back!" you laughed out. Your best friend snatched your binder right out of your hands and began flipping it in the air, pretending to do basketball tricks with it. He stopped abruptly to hold it above your head. He snickered at the height difference as you began jumping up and down trying to reach it.

"Awe, come on Baby Bear! Get it if you can!" he stammered out between chuckles. You smiled at the cute nickname he gave you.

"Cheater." Eventually, the young male gave in, but not before pulling out a few tattered stickers and placing them all on the front of the binder.

"YOU LITTLE-" you shrieked as your eyes widened. Your best friend burst out in hysterics, but you weren't letting him get away with his crime that easily. When the perfect moment came, you snatched his worn out Nike backpack from beside him and covered the straps with glittery, unicorn stickers.

"Hey! You can't do that!" he yelled as he playfully tackled you, causing the both of you to burst out in fits of laughter...

End of Flashback; Y/N's POV:

"Y/N? Hello? Earth to Y/N?" I was snapped out of deep thought, ironically, by Jeongyeon snapping her fingers in my face. I quickly glanced at the spot where the group of boys had been standing in front of the school doors; however, the spot was now barren. I looked down at my binder, rubbing my thumb over the ripped stickers coating the front cover.

"Sorry, uh, let's go?" I didn't look up from my binder.

"Well, well, well. Motherless and Orphan! Isn't this nice?" an ear-piercing voice from behind us squeaked out. Great. As if today could not delve deeper into the realm of horridity.
