Y/N POV:

I can't even explain what came over me. All the anger and emotion I had bottled up inside of me was finally pouring out. It took him this long to realize he was hurting me? It took him this long to realize his addiction was affecting my life? He's even dumber than I thought he was. I can't believe he even said that, and then had the audacity to put his arms on my shoulders? I couldn't stand being around him any longer, so I just stormed off to my room.

My eyes were shot from crying so hard. My throat was sore from screaming out everything I had to say. Honestly, I didn't care. After what he did, he deserves to hear what I have to say. He ruined our family.

FLASHBACK:

One late Saturday night, as Y/N and Jeongin were home alone and completing homework, the living room phone suddenly rang.

"Want me to get it?" Jeongin asked softly with a smile on his face.

"I hate saying this but please? This science homework is gonna take a while." Jeongin chuckled a bit, and then got up to answer the phone.

"Hello?" There was silence for a bit until he suddenly said, "Uh, yeah, she's right here, let me give her the phone." He walked back over to Y/N and handed her the phone.

"It's for you." he told her looking a bit concerned. Y/N furrowed her eyebrows and took the phone with her into another room.

OVER CALL

"Hello?"

"Uh, yes, is this Y/F/N Y/L/N?"

"Yes, who am I speaking to?"

"My name is Officer Choi, and, I, uh, I have some bad news."

A concerned look came over her face, as she immediately thought about the worst. She gulped deeply before responding. "Wh-what happened, o-officer?"

"Well, I hate to tell you this Miss, but your," he took a deep breath before continuing, "Your parents have been in an accident tonight." Y/N's heart dropped. Her eyes went a bit red, but she did her best to hold back the tears.

"W-what? W-what do you mean? What h-happened to t-them?" Her voice began cracking and more tears began to fall down her cheeks.

"We're not exactly sure of the specifics, but we do know your father was the one who caused the accident. We've taken him into custody for DUI and," he took another deep sigh, "and manslaughter." Dad...killed someone?  Thoughts raced through Y/N's head, none of them good. The tears began to pour slowly down her face.

Through sobs, she managed to say, "W-what about my mom? I-is she okay?" The officer sighed with what seemed like regret. He didn't respond immediately, and when he did, Y/N wished he hadn't.

"Your mother was killed in the accident...I'm sorry ma'am." Y/N's hands began to tremble and her breathing became heavy.

"Hello? Y/N?" Y/N couldn't talk anymore. Her hands trembled so much that she ended up dropping the phone. Her knees became weak and she fell to the ground. Jeongin heard a crash and ran to the kitchen.

"Y/N? You ok- Y/N!" He ran beside her and quickly wrapped his arms around her. She fell over in his arms and started crying even harder, if that was possible.

She tried to say something, but she couldn't. It was like her throat was swollen from shock. Jeongin ran his fingers through her hair and held her close

"Shh, Y/N, it's okay, it's okay..." Y/N felt lifeless. Her mother was basically her closest friend. What was she going to do without her...

   PRESENT DAY

I heard footsteps approach my room, and a pit formed in my stomach. It didn't take a genius to know who it was. I completely blew up in front of him. DAMNIT Y/N! WHY ARE YOU SUCH AN IDIOT?! He probably feels worse about leaving now! Whatever, it's his fault. He shouldn't have left me! He knew what I was- NO Y/N! You're just mad! It's not Jeongin's fault your dad started all of this! He didn't have a choice to leave! You can't blame him for this when he's just here to make you feel better!

I felt him lay down beside me and softly rub my back. I figured actions spoke louder than words, so I turned over to face him, and I fell over in his embrace. He held me so close and so tight, and for the first time, in a long time, I felt safe. I felt comfortable. I felt...loved. I wanted to explain what I was feeling, but all i could manage out was, "Why Innie? Why?" His grip on me tightened and he replied with, "I wish I knew. But hey. At least we get to live together now, so, hey roomie!" Unexpectedly, he made me smile. I smiled for the first time in a long time in this house. All the misery seemed to disappear for that moment in time.
