Sofie P.O.V

I woke up with a bad feeling. I can't exactly explain it, but it's like I know something bad was going to happen today.

Sighing, I complete my morning routine and head downstairs. I don't even notice when the twins join me in the kitchen until Enzo snaps his fingers in front of me.

"Huh?" I ask, still in a daze.

"You feeling okay?" Enzo asks with a frown. "Luca took your toast right out of your hands and you didn't even notice."

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just have a bad feeling. I guess today just isn't my day." I mumble.

"Don't worry about it. We all have our days" Luca says, munching on my toast. "You're going over to Ace's place today, right?" I nod my head happily. My mood immediately lifting as soon as I hear his name.

"I'm actually leaving now." I say grabbing my purse and giving them each a kiss on the cheek.

I'm wearing a black skater skirt with pair of tights and a full sleeve top and a scarf over it. on my feet, are my favourite pair of high heeled ankle boots. Why am I dressed up? Because I felt like dressing better would make this bad feeling go away.

Grabbing my coat, I greet Stefano and get in the car. Ten minutes later, we're at Ace's house. He has a meeting today, so he wouldn't be back for a while, but I'm planning on spending time with Dan.

"Guess whose presence you are graced with?" I say in a sing-song voice, while entering the house.

"Hey sis!" Dan calls from the living room. When I enter, I see Brad there as well.

"Brad!" I smile, giving him and Dan each a hug. "What are you doing here?" He scratches the back of his neck.

"I, um, needed to talk to you." He says.

"Ooh, now I'm interested." I say, walking into the kitchen to get some microwave popcorn.

"Um, you can't overreact." Dan snorts when he hears this.

"Like that's gonna work." I glare at the sixteen-year-old.

"Please continue." I say.

"Well, there's this girl... I met her a couple of days ago and asked her out." He seems to be thinking about which words to use. "She's different, and I want to do something special for her." I smile brightly at him.

"Aww, Bradly has a cwush, Bradly has a cwush, Bradly has a cwush." I say in a baby voice, and soon, Daniel joins my chanting.

"This is what I was talking about." Brad groans. "You two are so immature." I let out a giggle, and take the popcorn out of the microwave.

"Respect your elders." I tell him.

"You're literally a year older than me."

"A year and a half." I argue.

"Right, whatever. Can you help me or not?" He asks.

"Of course I will. Actually, I saw something being set up at the mall the other day. Why don't we go check it out?" They both nod in agreement. I hand Daniel the keys. "You're driving."

"Okay, so it looks like a ballet." I say, looking at the poster.

"Is this a first date kind of thing?" Brad asks, and I nod.

"I always feel like if tickets are bought in advance, then it shows you put in effort." I say. "Okay, so it starts tomorrow, but there's a show on Friday, so you can take her then." I suggest. Bradly nods slowly.

"Great! Now that that's settled, can we get some food?" Dan asks.

"Sure. You guys head to the food court and I'll meet you there. I need to get tickets." Dan and I start walking towards the food court and that horrible feeling is back.

I tell Dan about it and before he can say anything, I see a pair of eyes that I never wanted to see ever again. A pair of eyes that I thought I never would see again. The pair of eyes Emmy and I had nightmares about for years. Carter's eyes.

I don't understand. He's dead!

He's standing a bit away from us, but he's staring intently at me. I was scared of him as a child, but somehow his aura is even more scary now. Dan is calling my name, but his voice sounds like I'm under water.

Carter smirks and out of the corner of my eye, I see a man raising a gun toward Daniel. I push him out of the way, just as I feel a sting on my lower back.

"Damn, what was that for?" Dan asks, oblivious to the situation, probably because the man used a silencer. He sees the blood seeping out of me and his eyes widen. "Shit." He drags me into the nearest store as I feel two more bullets enter my body. Daniel curses the entire way. At this moment, I'm glad that

I faintly remember seeing Stefano shooting off people with a worried glance in my direction. "Hey, no closing your eyes okay?" Dan whispers, reaching down to my wrist and clicking the panic button on my bracelet.

"Ace." I mumble.

"Yeah, you'll see Ace soon sis. I just need you to stay awake for me, okay?" Dan has tears pouring out of his eyes, but I don't think he notices. He's putting pressure on my wounds.

"Hurts like a chicken nugget." I say with a wince.

"Sorry." He apologises, but continues.

"Tell Ace..." I can't seem to finish the sentence. Come on dumb mouth!

"Sofie! No, you are not dying today, no sir." Dan says crying even more. I use the last of my strength to squeeze his hand. "Sofie Folliero, you are not leaving me, do you understand? If you close your eyes, I will kill you myself." I smile slightly.

Bradly runs to us. He also has tears on his face. "Hey sis." He whispers. "You gotta hang on for Ace okay?" He takes my other hand. "You've gotta hang on till you become an Adornetto and you'll be my real sister." My head feels lighter, but still manage a small smile.

"Ace." Is the last thing I say before everything goes black.

Tell Ace that I love him.
