Emmalin P.O.V (YAY! REMEMBER HER?)

I've had a bad feeling since I got here. There were these guys in suits... well, all the guys are in suits, but these people seem different, and I know that Nick senses it, too. They keep spilling their drinks, but just on the floor, it seems odd.

Anyway, I'm going to ignore it and watch my baby sister dance. She seems to see something in the audience that has her scared, but I don't know what it is.

Well, until she says so. I assume this part of the dance is a freestyle, because Sofie uses sign language while moving her body more so it seems like a dance move. My heart races when I see what she's saying.

My brothers also tense, since they understand sign.

Get out, Carter's here.

I turn around and see him, staring straight at my sister. Shit. I look at Antonio and he nods for me to leave. Nick doesn't waste any more time and drags me out of the venue... or tries to.

Sofie P.O.V

I sigh in relief when Nick drags Emmy out, until one of Carter's men prevent them from leaving. Nick stands protectively in front of Emmy, and the situation catches Carter's attention. Oh cupcakes!

The song ends and I rush off stage, still out of breath and trying to find Ace, while Trevor left to get his gun. When I reached the audience, all I could see were people screaming and rushing out of the hall. Ace was nowhere to be seen, and Trevor was right behind me, shooting of people. When a guy tried to grab me, I punched his face and knocked him out. I felt like throwing up again, and went to the nearest trashcan to do just that.

Trevor sent me a look of concern, but I waved it off, too busy looking for Ace over all the chaos. I spot Emmy breaking a guy's nose and then kneeing another where the son doesn't shine.

That's when I spot Carter, who is looking directly at me. I really wish I had a gun. With an evil smirk, he drops a match onto the floor and a path of flames makes its way straight to me. I step put of the way just in time and Ace comes sprinting to me. My mind is blank as I picture myself back in that building.

Ace's arms pull me to his chest. "Listen to my heartbeat." he whispers into my ear. I focus on his breathing and calm down after a bit. "Nick is taking you and Emma home, okay sweets?" I look up.

"What about you?" I ask slightly panicking. Ace was standing so that I couldn't see the fire.

"I'm going to get rid of the bastard who wants to hurt you." He says. Noticing my expression, he says. "I love you. So much. Go with your sister and I'll see you in a couple of hours, okay?" I don't want to leave him here, but I know for a fact that I'll distract him by staying.

"Okay, be safe. I love you." I kiss his lips before getting in Nick's car. I hope he's alright.

It's been three hours, but still nothing. Nick walks into the kitchen where I'm pacing.

"Sofie..." He says and my head snaps up. "Ace has been shot, but it's nothing a few stitches can't fix. He's gone to his doctor and..." Nick is still talking, but I can't hear him. instead, a loud buzzing noise is heard in my ear, just before everything goes black.

I feel water hit my face, but I can't seem to wake up. "Nick! She isn't waking up!" I hear Emmy shout.

"Calm down angel, let's get her to the hospital." I feel myself being lifted up and placed in a car. That's when I lose my senses and everything goes black.

"She's severely dehydrated and hasn't been eating properly either." I open my eyes and I'm greeted my Emmy, Nick and a doctor.

"Ace." I croak out. Emmy and Nick share a look.

"Ah, Mrs Adornetto." The doctor says. "Would you mind if I spoke to her alone?" Emmy and Nick nod before leaving.

"I didn't want to say this earlier, but congratulations! Your pregnant!" She beams. I gape at her and place a hand to my stomach.

"I'm pregnant?" I ask, my eyes filling with happy tears. "The test said negative..." I mutter.

"It could have been mistaken, which is why people usually take at least two." I'm pregnant. I'm going to be a mother. Ace is going to be a father. Oh, chicken wings. Ooh, that sounds really good right now.

"Now that you're awake, I can get a sonogram and see how far along you are. You never know, I may be able to see the gender." I shake my head.

"Um, can you not? I want to do this with my husband if that's alright." I say. The doctor nods in understanding and tells me about how I need to eat and drink more.

Emmy asked me what the doctor said, but I brushed off her question by demanding to go see Ace.

When we got to the infirmary, I see an unconscious Ace laying in bed and rush up to him.

"Why isn't he awake? Nick said he just needed a few stitches!" I say, holding Ace's hand tight.

"He's fine Mrs Adornetto." The doctor assures me. "He wouldn't let me patch him up, claiming he had to see you, so I had to put him to sleep." I glare at Ace even though he can't see me.

"Thanks doc." I say. The doctor nods and leaves the room.

Half-an-hour later, Ace's eyes open.

Ace P.O.V

I slowly open my eyes, remembering what happened. After a lot of shooting and fire, we finally got Carter. We made sure he was still alive so he could feel the pain he put Sofie and Emmalin through. He's currently at the third floor of the Folliero house, waiting for us to have our fun with him.

Turning my head to the side, I see Sofie looking at our entwined fingers blankly.

"Kitten?" I croak out. Her eyes meet mine and she bites her lip.

"I'm pregnant!" She blurts out. I blink once. Twice. Three times.

"Really?" I whisper, sitting up. She nods with tears streaming down her face and I grab her hips, bringing her towards me and kissing her stomach over and over again. "I'm going to be a dad." I whisper softly.

"Yeah, you are." Sofie says, just as softly. Suddenly it hits me that Sofie, my wife, is pregnant with my child.

"Why are you standing? Sit down. Do you need anything? No more doing anything yourself, just call me, okay?" I fuss over her and make sure she's comfortable. My eyebrows are scrunched in concentration until she traces them with a finger.

"I promise I'll be fine." She says. I smile softly and kiss her lips. Telling her over and over again how much I love her.

"I need to get some books." I mumble to myself, but by Sofie's burst of laughter, I'm pretty sure she heard.
