Ace P.O.V
I am physically incapable of getting over how absolutely stunning Sofia is. Not only in looks, but also in personality. She had everyone wrapped around her finger after being here for like a few hours.
The boys asked if they could leave for a bit and I agree. None other than Bianca went after them and said a bunch of stuff about how terrible it was to play while there are guests in the house. Bianca is the daughter of one of my legal business partners. The boys completely ignored her, and a few minutes later, I saw Sofie go after them.
When she first asked about mingling with the guests, I thought she would be lie Bianca, but boy was I wrong. She crushed both of them, and left them with their jaws on the ground. I guess she heard my chuckle, because her head whipped to mine. When she smiled at me, I swear my heart stopped breathing.
"I assume you'd like a tour of your dream house?" I ask, holding out a hand. She smiled excitedly, and took my hand.
"Don't do anything we wouldn't!" Bradly calls, and I flip him the bird behind my back.
"This is the gym, and connected is the indoor pool." I say, opening the door for her.
"Wow." She breathes. We had gone through everything but the dance studio. I was saving that for last. "It's beautiful." She says, looking out the window. If she thinks this is beautiful, wait till she sees the view from the dance studio.
"I think you know the last room we'll be visiting." She jumps up and down excitedly, and grabs my hand, dragging me out of the gym. Her hand was small compared to mine, but the two fit together like a jigsaw puzzle.
I open the door and smile when her breath hitches, much like how it did when I opened the door this evening.
"This is even better that Broadway." She whispers.
"You've been to Broadway?" I ask, and she raises an eyebrow.
"Yes. Are you going to doubt that?" She fires back.
"I said I was sorry. Damn, you could say you've been to the moon now and I would believe you." She laughs, going towards the window, and staring out at the New York skyline. I have to admit the view was amazing, but nothing compared to the woman looking out at it.
"We're going out on Friday. I'll pick you up at six." I say, rather than ask.
"Oh Ace, thank you so much for asking. To answer your question, I would love to go out with you on Friday. The only problem, is that my brothers might lock me up in a tower." I chuckle.
"I already spoke to them. They're cool with it." I say, taking a sip of the champagne in my hand. Sofie has an apple juice, because she isn't twenty-one yet.
"They were okay with it?" She asks sceptically.
"Are you doubting me?" She smiles and shakes her head slowly. "Good. Let's get back to the party." I hold out a hand, and she takes it with a smile.
Sofia P.O.V
One week later...
"Argh, where the bread sticks is my purse?!" I ask out loud.
"It's your hand, Sof." Emmy giggles. I look down, and sure enough my purse is in my hand.
I'm wearing a teal summer dress that brings out my eyes. "Aw, look at my baby sister growing up." Emmy hugs me and I hug her back instantly. When the doorbell rings, I begin to jump up and down with nervous excitement. "Go get him, tiger." Emmy says.
"Thanks, Emmy. I love you." I kiss her cheek and make my way downstairs. Ace is waiting for me in charcoal Grey jeans and a plain white t-shirt that emphasizes his chest muscles.
"You look breath-taking." He breathes, coming over and kissing my cheek. I blush, but refuse to be one of those girls who giggle all the time and don't say anything in return. How come in the movies, the guy is never complimented?
"You look pretty good yourself." I say, earning a smile that shows off his dimple. I look at everyone else, and see all my brother and Nick glaring at Ace.
"How come none of you glared at Nick for Emmy's first date?" I ask, and Nick chuckles, wrapping an arm around Emmy's waist.
"Trust me, they did." He says, placing a kiss on her temple.
"Oh." Is all I say, before looking at everyone else. "Right, before you burn holes into his head, could we go?" I ask, and Ace nods his head, taking my hand and leading me outside. As soon as the door is closed, I let out a sigh of relief.
"Where's your car?" I ask, looking around. Ace turns my head to the side, and I see a motorcycle. "You mean the death trap?" I ask dryly.
"Don't worry sweets, I'll protect you." I roll my eyes, and walk towards the bike. "On you get." He says, and I take a deep breath before hopping on. I hand go around him and I hold on to his torso. "I knew I should have taken this bike." He says smugly, earning a light smack from me. He revs the engine, and I let out a scream. Did I just scream? "Yes, you did. Relax, kitten. You'll be fine."
With that, we speed off. I figured it would be scary, but it really wasn't. It kind of felt freeing in a way. Like we were on a jet ski.
"Hey, we're here kitten." He says, and I finally open my eyes and remove my head from between his shoulder blades.
"Woah." I breath. Ace brought me to a beach party. It's small, and beautiful. There are fairy lights hanging all across the venue, and people by the grill. There's a stall selling doughnuts and drinks, and I think I just fell in love with this place. The atmosphere is so inviting, and there is soft music flowing through the air.
"I take it you like it?" Ace voice comes from directly behind me. I can't seem to form any words, so instead, I opt for nodding my head vigorously. Ace wraps an arm around my waist, and leads me to where there are people taking and hanging out. I stop short when I see a bonfire a few feet away.
Memories of that night swim through my head. seeing the man that hurt my sister, then hearing men speak in Russian. I didn't understand the language at the time, but still remember what happened. The loud noise that came from the explosion, the ringing in my ears. The heat that hit me as I was brought back into the burning building.
"Hey. Calm down." I look up and see Ace, holding my face in his hands. "We're not going to the fire okay? We're going to the ocean. Don't look at it, just keep you eyes on me." I nod numbly, and without thinking, I rest my head on his chest. He's shocked my actions, but wraps his arms around me after a second.
Now, we're sitting in a log, away from the party, looking at the ocean. "What happened?" He finally asks. I knew he would, and he deserves the truth.
As is was thinking, I realised that I trust Ace. And I want to have something with him. there really is no denying the chemistry between us.
I'm going to give this a chance. To give us a chance.
