Izuku found himself sitting at table in the Lunch Rush, surrounded by the self proclaimed 'Deku Squad'.
His chest was hurting, creatures squeezing the organ, making him gasp for air. It had been like that since he passed out in class, dizzy and breathless.
It hurt so goddamn much.
It had been a few days since it happened, each day squeezing the life out of the boy. He was under the care of recovery girl for a few hours to make sure he was safe to leave, and once he did, his classmates wouldn't leave him alone. At least they had calmed down now.
Izuku knew that people had started noticing something was wrong with him. Were they going to kill him finally? Hurt him, hurt him, hurt him?
He wasn't dumb. He knew he deserved it
So many thoughts rushed through the boys head, almost as if his conscious mind was watching the world through dozens of TVs. Apparently the strangers around him were talking to him.
Ochako waved her hands in Izuku's face, attempting to pull him out of his trance. He was doing this a lot lately and she was beginning to worry for him. Maybe it had something to do with the prescription medication he was taking?
"Deku you alive there?" She asked, frowning. As she sat back down she almost missed a faint, "I wish not.."
She looked at the greenette with shock, eyes watering as her mind raced.
What could this mean? Is Deku suicidal?
She cautiously reached forward, gently flicking Izuku's head. The boy looked up at her with terrified eyes, tremors racking his body. Ochako couldn't watch this any further, Izuku wasn't okay, it was more than obvious.
And it scared her.
Turning to the others on the table, she rushed them to Chiyo's office, Ochako holding Izuku's hand as his dazed self tried to keep up. Izuku didn't know what was happening, some of the voices telling him that he was going to die, and others telling him that he is going to be expelled. He didn't know what he wanted at this point.
So he went along with it.
Ochako practically dragged the boy into the nurse's office, making their way to Chiyo seated at her desk.
"Excuse me Recovery Girl, can you please check up on Deku?" Ochako asked, looking pleadingly into Chiyo's eyes. Recovery girl nodded and led the group over to one of one of the white hospital beds.
"So tell me what the problem is dear."
"Well, um, Deku's been spacing out a lot and I don't know if it's because of the medicine he's on or.. I don't know." Ochako sighed glancing over to Izuku who was staring at the wall. "He's been acting like he's scared of something a lot of the time."
Todoroki nodded.
Chiyo hummed, holding a hand to her chin, "I never saw any medication listed on his Student Profile.." She sighed, walking back to her desk, and fishing through some folders before pulling out a few papers stapled together. Her eyes skimmed over the information, landing on a short sentence.
Medication: none.
Studying the group she questioned, "How much do you know about this 'medicine'?"
"He was acting strangely and when we asked him about it, he said that he was taking prescription medicine and it was making him feel sick, kero." Tsuyu looked at her with concern.
"How was he acting strangely?" Chiyo urged them to continue.
"The whole class was at the mall, but Midoriya suddenly ran off looking like he saw a ghost.." Todoroki elaborated, glancing at the green haired boy who was simply staring at the wall, mumbling incoherent words.
Iida who had been surprisingly quiet, continued. "I also noticed that Midoriya has been spacing out a lot, and often looking afraid of something."
"That is concerning." Chiyo mused, walking over to where Izuku was seated. "If that's all, I suggest you four head back to class and I'll check up with Midoriya."
The group left leaving Chiyo to watch Izuku. She too was suprised to hear about the way he's been acting, ever since she met the boy he was always smiling and rambling on about his passions. It was heartwarming to see such a happy kid.
However, Izuku currently wasn't acting like himself.
She wouldn't have been all that concerned if it weren't for that 'medication' he was apparently taking.
The nurse shook Izuku from his trance. The boy immediately stared at her, horror glazing his eyes, tears threatening to fall.
What was going on?
Later that afternoon, Chiyo concluded that there was nothing physically wrong with the boy. Whatever was causing the Izuku to act the way he was, must be psychological.
The lady sighed, glancing back over to Izuku. He was mumbling to himself, almost as if he was having a conversation with someone only the boy could hear.
"I'm too old for this," she groaned fingers playing with her pen. Chiyo grabbed her phone and scrolled through her contacts, quickly finding Nezu's number. He picked up almost immediately.
"Hello Chiyo!" He said. Chiyo could almost sense the grin on his face.
"Hello Sir, I'd like to organise a meeting with you, Shouta, Toshinori, and Hizashi please." Chiyo requested.
"Sure! May I ask why?"
"Well, some of Midoriya's friends have brought to my attention some weird behaviour from the boy. I'd like to discuss it with some of his teachers that he is closest to. " Chiyo explained, hands running through her neatly tied hair.
"Okay, I'll organise it right away. Any specific date or time?"
"Preferably soon." Chiyo hummed.
"Alright, hows four 'aclock this afternoon? Is that all?"
"Yes, that sounds great. See you soon Sir."
"Please, I insist you call me Nezu."
"Okay, okay. See you soon Nezu."
Chiyo hung up the phone. She grabbed a piece of paper and started writing down notes of Izuku's behaviour.
"Spacing out, muttering to himself, unfocused eyes, blank expression when not acting afraid of nothing," Chiyo muttered, writing all this on the paper.
Resting into the chair she watched Izuku. She had nothing better to do then wait.
