This is one chapter that I'm going to be putting a lot of thought into because one I am a non-denominational Christian and there are some people that don't quite understand these beings. In my belief's they are celestial beings that are sent to do God's task. These task can fall under protecting and watching over human beings, or any other order from his mouth. They are also messengers of God, a good example would be the angel Gabriel that came to Mary with news about her pregnancy.
When you see an angel you'll basically see a beautiful human being but that is only a disguise to not overwhelm the human mind, they might also have one set of wings as well. The cherubim, one of the ranks of angel is described in Ezekiel 1:10 of the bible, Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.
Now a, seraphim, is the highest rank of angel that has six wings while of course the cherub has four wings. There has only been one person to face an angel and that was Jacob, it also said that the angel might have been God. Now of course we all know that the devil whose true name is Lucifer was also an angel. It is as describe of why he was cast away in Ezekiel 28: 12-18. His heart was filled with corruption and he was casted away. Make no mistake, angels in my opinion are very powerful. It only took two of them to destroy the cities Sodom and Gomorrah. Now to kill an angel, I cannot say because I don't know. The only thing I can say is that another angel can kill an angel, and that God can kill angels due to the scripture Revelations 12: 7-13 that describes the war in heaven. The war of heaven describes angels lead by Lucifer or The Red Dragon and angels lead by the Archangel Michael. In the end Michael and his angels obtain victory while the angels that fought on Lucifer's side are pushed down to the earth and they become fallen angels.
I hope this sheds some light on angels, also they are not just mentioned in christianity but other religions like Judaism and Islam.
