Chapter 7 - Hospital

Joe's POV

It's been four days and she hasn't woke up once. Doctors were doing so many tests on her. She looked so weak. I just wish I could change positions with her, I wanted to make her safe and I just wanted to take all her pain away. A nurse and doctor entered the room and asked if I could wait outside, I walked towards the bed and placed a kiss on Kat's forehead and I left the room. Once I was in the corridor I leaned against a wall and slid down to the floor. I tried my hardest to fight back the tears so I pulled my knees into my chest and lay my head on them. I had spent my whole time at the hospital with Kat and I only went home twice and that was when her dad was here, her dad was here almost all the time but I let him go to his hotel at night so he could rest. Her dad was a lovely bloke. My eyelids started feeling heavy, I tried to keep them as wide as I could but they soon fell shut.

Someone was nudging me, I opened my eyes to see who it was. It was the nurse that was with Kat. I jumped up back onto my feet. "How is she?" the nurse smiled "She's awake and was shouting for you, she's calm now though" I smiled at the nurse "Thank you" I then ran into Kat's room.

Katie's POV

"Kat!" I turned away from the doctor and looked to the doorway, Joe came running in the room. He came straight to me and hugged me tight, I placed my head into his neck. I started crying, I was so happy to see him and I coouldn't believe he was here. "Kat, I love you and I never want to lose you!" Did Joe just say he loved me? He kissed me and then the doctor cleared his throat. I pulled away from Joe, "Sorry doctor" Joe sat in the chair next to my bed and he held my small hand in both of his. "Ah yes, Kate you suffered a severe asthma attack and you were in a coma for 4 days" The doctor took a breath, "Kate I can see you're also very thin, I think you should consider talking to someone about-" "I'm not anorexic!" I shouted, I was angry with the doctor now "I'm not saying you are but-" "I don't need help!" Joe tightened his grip on my hand, "Kat, calm down. It's okay." Joe's voice calmed me a little. "I'm sorry doctor" I apologised "It's okay, I can see you're under a lot of pressure right now. I will leave you to rest and I'll check on you soon" "Thank you" The doctor then exited the room and it was just me and Joe. I pulled him from the chair and I wrapped my arms around him. "I love you too Joesph" he pulled away and smiled at me, "That accent I swear!" I giggled at how stupid he was, then Ericka popped into my head. "Where's Ericka? Is she ok-" "Ericka is fine" Joe looked at his watch "She should be here any minute now actually" he smiled and kissed me before he went and grabbed something from a bag on the floor. It was his phone. He sat on the bed and started scrolling through Twitter. I looked at his face, his eyes had dark circles underneath them and his eyes were bloodshot. "Joe, how long have you been here?" "Um.. well I went home for an hour yesterday so I could shower" he replied "You haven't slept have you?" I shook his head I sat up and hugged him close to me, "I can't believe you've been here the whole time! You should go home-" "No! I can't leave you!" he hugged me tight and I couldn't breathe properly  "Joe! I can't breathe!" He loosened his grip "Sorry" he kissed my cheek. I then saw a silhouette in the doorway "Ericka!" a man chuckled, I knew that laugh!

"Dad?" the man walked into the room fully, "Dad! What are you doing here?" I started crying, Joe went and sat on the chair and my dad came and hugged me. "As soon as I heard you were in hospital, I got on a plane and came straight here!" That made me cry more "You're my little girl and I would do anything and everything for you Kat!" I hugged him tight. My dad and I spoke for ages! He told me what had happened to Ericka's mum and how she was fine now then I told him all about SITC and sightseeing around London. Then I told him about Joe. Joe was still in the chair but he was fast asleep. Dad put a blanket over him and we continued talking. Then someone burst into the room "Ka-!" "Shh!" dad and I said in unison, Ericka covered her mouth and I giggled. She walked around the bed and hugged me "I'm so happy you're okay Kate! I don't know what I would have done without you!" I had a tear in my eye "I'm happy you're okay Eri!" Ericka, Dad and I chatted for around an hour then Ericka and Dad let me rest for a bit while they grabbed something to eat.

2 DAYS LATER

I packed up all my stuff and grabbed my shoes. I put the last things in my bag and then someone wrapped their arms around me from behind, "Joe!" I turned to look and him "I have a surprise for you, come on" he grabbed my bags from the bed and we walked to reception. I signed some papers and thanked all the nurses and doctors who had helped me then Joe walked me to his car. We got in and Joe started the car, "Where the hell are you taking me Joesph Sugg?" "Back to my place, I told you I have a surprise!" "But what is-" "Shh! It's a surprise!" I crossed my arms and sighed like a little kid. "This is so unfair!" Joe laughed as he drove out of the car park and onto the busy London roads. We finally arrived at Joe and Caspar's apartment, we got to the door of the apartment and Joe said "Close your eyes" I looked at him funny "Just do it!" I smiled and closed my eyes. I heard the door open and then Joe put his hands on my waist and directed me into the apartment "Joe what are you doing? Can I open my eyes now?" "Hold on!" I heard him move a little then he whispered "Open them" I opened my eyes and saw lots of people, YouTubers to be precise. I looked around the room and saw Alfie and Zoe, Jack and Finn, Jim and Tan, Caspar and Ericka then I saw my dad. I turned to Joe, "Don't cry beautiful" he smiled I hugged him tight "Thank you Joe!" Everyone came around us and we all had a group hug.

Afterwards everyone came and hugged me. Zoe hugged me and said "I can't believe how beautiful you are! Hold on I remember you! I met you at Summer In The City!" she squealed "You remember me?" "Of course!" I then proceed to hug everyone and say hello after Zoe Alfie hugged me, then Jack and Finn, then Jim and Tan and Caspar hugged me tight "We're so happy you're okay Kate" "Thanks Cas!" I ran to Ericka and my dad, "I can't believe this Kate!" "I know right!" We both freaked out a little. Everyone talked for a while and I thanked Joe so many times that I lost track. It was now around 5pm and my dad wanted to talk. "Whatcha needing dad?" "I just wanted to know if you wanted to go grab some dinner with me?" "Of course dad! I just need to go back to the hotel and change okay?" "Sure hunny, I'll text you the address and We can meet and six thirty?" "Okay, see you then dad!" I hugged him goodbye and he left. Everyone slowly began to leave. "Joe can you take me to the hotel?" "Sure, what d'you need?" Joe was smiling as he looked at me and I couldn't resist kissing his cheek "Dad asked me to go to dinner with him" "Awh okay, I'll just grap my keys and we can head now" Joe got his keys and we got in the car and drove to the hotel. Joe walked me to the hotel door. "Do you want me to take you to the restaurant?" "Sure, if you don't mind" "Anything for you Kat!" I opened the door and went straight to the closet. I picked out a cute emerald green skater dress. "Hey, look Joe it matches your eyes!" he laughed "Oh Kat, you're so cute!" "Hey! I forgot to ask, when did you start calling me Kat?" he looked confused "Umm... I don't really know, I just like calling you that I guess" "Only my grandma called me Kat" a tear rolled down my cheek "I'm sorry Katie, I promise I won't say it anymore. I'm so sor-" "No, I like it" I smiled at him. I then proceed to get ready, I put on the dress and straightened my hair and I put on the slightest touch of make up. I came out the bathroom and rushed to grab my black vans, I put them on my feet and grabbed my bag that was on the table. When I turned Joe was standing there, he took my hands in his "You look stunning Kat!" I kissed him and it felt amazing. Once we finally stopped I checked the time 6:19 "Joe! We gotta go!" Joe and I rushed to the lift, when in the lift Joe put his hands on my waist "God, you look beautiful!" I put my hand on the back of his neck and pulled him close. He teased me by being as close to my lips as possible but he wasn't kissing me. "Joesph Sugg, will you kiss me already?" Just then Joe kissed me more passionately than ever before. The lift had stopped but Joe and I were so caught up in the moment that we didn't realise. When we finally parted lips we turned to see someone waiting outside the lift. We both went bright red, Joe apologised to the man as we exited. When we were outside the hotel we both laughed our heads off. Joe decided to walk me to the restaurant because it was just around the corner.

We got to the restaurant just in time, I hugged Joe tight. "I'll call you later, okay beautiful?" I nod happily "Enjoy your night!" Joy kissed my forehead and I waved him goodbye before walking into the restaurant.
