Chapter 10 - Staying the Night

"Joe?" I was in total shock. He gave me the smile that made me melt and I dropped the polish and ran to him. "What are you doing here?" He picked me up and spun me around. "I'm here to see you silly! I told you you'd see my sooner than you thought!" I hugged him tight. "you know everyone including Nick was in on this?" "What?" I turned to Nick "you knew?" He smiled and I gave him a big hug before returning to Joe. "Go take your break Kate I'll be fine here" "thanks Nick!" I grab my jacket and bag before taking Joe to Nandos for lunch. When we're seated at our table, Joe sits across for me and he takes my hands in his "Kat I love you" he looks into my blue eyes, "I love you too!" I don't stop smiling the whole time we're eating. Joe looks at his watch and his smile changes. "What's wrong?" I became worried. "It's just... you have to go back to work" I giggle "God Joe I thought you cheated on me or something!" I stand up and wrap my arms around him. He doesn't say anything. I grab my stuff and we exit the restaurant, Joe and I walk hand in hand back to my work. We get stopped a couple times by some fans and I took their picture with Joe. Then we continue walking "Joe?" "Yeah?" "Where you gonna go while I'm at work?" "Oh.. I didn't really think about it" "You can look around the town for a bit and meet me back here at half 4, if you want to?" Joe nods and smiles. "Great see you then!" We had arrived at my work so I hugged Joe and gave him a quick kiss and he turns to leave, "Give me a phone if you get lost!" I shout after him. "Okay, love you" and he continues walking.

I dumped my stuff and grabbed my apron, it was only 1:30 so I took some stock down from upstairs and filled all the drawers, only an hour past. The shop was pretty dead so I sat and looked through my Twitter, I saw  the picture of Joe I took earlier with those girls, I smiled and kept scrolling. Some customers came in and I went over to help them. "Hi, can I help you with anything?" I showed the couple some products and the shop got really busy. Nick and I tried to go around and help everyone. When I was talking to a customer I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket, it kept going. It must be Joe. Once I finish talking to the customer I grab Nick and tell him I'll be two minutes. I went through the back and quickly dialed Joe's number. "Hello?" "Hey Kat" "Joe I'm in a real hurry, whatcha needing?" "Well I kinda got lost" I sighed, "where are you?" "Waterstones" "Okay, wait there. When the shop gets quiet I'll come get you" "Oh, you don-" "See you soon Joe" I hung up and rushed back into the shop. Nick was at the till serving customers and I went around helping everyone out.

When we finally quieted down it was already 3:15, I turned to Nick "Nick, I'm just gonna run out for a sec, d'you need anything?" I grab my jacket and bag "That's fine and I'm okay thanks hun!" Nick shuts as I leave the shop. I walk through one of the shopping centres and onto Union Street, I walk up to Waterstones which takes about 15 minutes. I go inside Waterstones searching for Joe. I must have looked around the whole shop twice! I took out my phone and called Joe. It rang once and I felt someone's arms wrap around my waist, pulling me close. I turn to see Joe, I push him gently. "Hey, what was that for?" "I need to get back to work and I couldn't find you anywhere!" He hugs me and I knew I couldn't stay angry at him. "I'm sorry"he whispers into my neck. I kiss his cheek and grab his hand. We walk back to my work and it was now 3:48. We walked into the shop and Nick was standing at the till with his phone. "Hey Nick! Sorry we took so long, been busy?" Nick looks up from his phone "Pffft, I've had one customer the whole time you were gone!" he looked back at his phone. I walked through the back and started going up the stairs then Nick shouted on me. I turned and he was at the bottom of the stairs. "Kate, why don't you just go home? It's not busy, go have some fun!" "Are you sure?" "Aye!" I ran up the stairs and got all my things then I went back downstairs, Joe and Nick were laughing at something, "Aye then he fell flat on his face!" Joe was holding his side. "Oh Kate, thanks for today I'll see you next Sunday" Nick hugged me goodbye and Joe and I left.

"So Kat" "So Joesph?" "What do yo want to do?" "Really? I wanna go home" "Okay, let's go by the shop and grab some stuff and then we can go to yours" I nod happily at Joe. We got on the bus and ii asked how things were in town. "It was great, I just got a few things but some people here are hard to understand!" I laughed "You'll get use to it!" "I love the accent but some of the words are hard to understand!" I kissed Joe's cheek "I'll teach you everything later" I then rested my head on his shoulder until we got off. We got off at Sainbury's, Joe basically ran to the shop. When we were  in the shop Joe bought all the junk food he wanted and we got back on the bus. We got of the bus at my stop. You could see my house from the bus stop. We walked to the door and I rummaged for my key, I finally found it and opened the door.

My house was a one floor, 3 bedroom, semi-detached house. When you opened the front door you were in our narrow hall way and to the right was my mum & dad's room and then there was my brothers room (opposite my room). On the right was my room and then the bathroom and straight ahead was the living room and when in there the kitchen was on the left.

Joe and I entered the house. The hallway had pictures of me and my brother from when we were kids plastered everywhere, cringy I know! "Naww! Look how cute you were Kat!" "What do you mean were?" I winked at Joe then walked to the kitchen. I let my boxer dog out the kitchen and he ran straight past me and he ran towards Joe. Joe had only made it half way up the hallway when the dog put his front paws on Joe's chest. I ran towards him "Hey boy!" Joe was smiling, "What's his name?" "Buddy" I went into the kitchen and got a dog treat, Joe was now in the living room with Buddy. I hand Joe the treat "Here, make him sit and ask for a high five" Joe took the treat and did exactly what i said. Buddy gave Joe a high five. "Your dog is awesome!" Joe stood up and put his arm around my waist "Whatcha wanna do?" "how about you teach me all these Scottish words!" I nod happily, I grab Joe hand and walk him to my room I open the door and go in then I dump all my stuff at the bottom of the bed.

My room is covered in posters and pictures of family and friends. My wardrobe is also covered with pictures, on the left side is pictures from over the years with family and the right side is full of pictures of YouTubers, most of which were Joe. Joe was inspecting my room while I sorted out some stuff. I went into the wardrobe and grabbed some clothes. I went to walk out the room, Joe was still standing at the door. I pushed him playfully out the way and then Joe grabbed me and lifted me over his shoulder. "Joe! Put me down!" I was kicking my legs and Joe started laughing. He lay me down on the bed and he was hovering above me. "Thank you!" I giggled and Joe started to kiss me slowly and gently, he started moving his hand slowly up and down my side. I pulled away from him and he looked concerned, "Sorry did -" I interrupted him "Stay tonight!" he smirked at me "I thought you'd never ask!" he then continued kissing me but this time it was passionate. It reminded me of the lift and how all I wanted then was Joe. Joe slowly moved his hand up my bare back lifting my shirt with it. I arched my back slightly, Joe's hand was now at the top of my back. He kissed me more. I then heard keys going in the door so I pushed Joe away. "Something always seems to interrupt us!" Joe laughed which made me laugh. I got up and I turned on my TV. Someone came in and locked the door. "Hello, someone home?" the voice called, I stuck my head out my door "Hey mum!" "Oh hey Kate, is Joe with you?" "You knew as well! Mum how could you?" I said dramatically, my mum laughed and I hugged her.

Joe was flicking through the films on the TV. He decided on Brave. I was happy because it was one of my favourite films! After the film was done my dad came in from work along with my brother. My dad came into my room. "Hey Katie-Kat! Why aren't you ready?" "Hey and ready for what?" "We're going out for dinner, go get ready you two!"
