A/N: Hello human beings I presume! This was requested by Quetzal_37!
I had no inspiration whatsoever, so I decided to look on Pinterest, and I found this gem! The inspiration for this particular chapter comes from that pin above. (I don't know who originally came up with the idea, but, it is NOT my own idea, and to whomever you are who created it, thank you, and you are truly an inspiration.)
This takes place in an alternate universe, obvi, but still the elven world we know and love. If that makes sense.
I think it is going to be in mainly Biana's POV, and if it changes, I will alert you. Let's begin, shall we?
The Vacker family has a secret.
But let's face it.
When your name carries enough weight that someone crashes a wedding to have a chance at that life, it's pretty important.
And secrets in the Vacker family lineage are the best kept in the world.
If you don't want it to be told, it isn't going to be told.
But this secret is the most potent of them all.
You see, every Vacker has some kind of an extra talent, curse, or power as some might call it.
Some Vackers can pass it off as a skill, such as being able to breathe underwater without the need of a lufterator, or something like fire resistance, or invincibility, because those can be easily dismissed as potions or elixirs.
But not me.
I stick close to makeup and ahir products because that's the only way I can make sure people see me who I really look like.
Not their ideal type.
That's my curse, or power.
Without my makeup and hair products and enchanted clothes, everyone who viewed me would just see me as their ideal type.
It made it easy to pick out who liked who, and in theory, easier to pick out who liked me, but in reality, I wasn't anyone's dream person.
I merely who they wanted me to be.
The only comfort I found was my ability.
To disappear.
Then, I couldn't be a bunch of anybodies.
I was who I viewed myself to be.
A nobody.
With chocolate brown hair, teal eyes, and a pretty face (though no one really knew that), and invisible to everyone.
Because the real me was nobody to everyone.
"Why are you so into clothes and fashion and makeup?"
I've been asked that so many times, and every time, my answer is,
"So I can be who I see myself to be in the mirror."
My answer confuses some, provokes thought in others but most just shrug it off.
Until I met Dex.
"Ugh. Why do you use contact elixirs?"
I had turned to him for the first time I joined Sophie and my brother.
Naturally, but unwillingly, Dex was there too.
Fitz's ability was to be able to charm anyone and everyone.
