Chapter 4

Adriana's POV:

I woke up at around 10 am and went downstairs to eat. Mom made pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I grabbed a big plate and inhaled my food, I was so hungry.

"Slow down AJ it's not going anywhere." Matteo said and I rolled my eyes

"So are you two excited to go to Stanford like your brother?" Mom asked

"Yeah it'll be fun to finally be with my twin after all these years" Alessio beamed

"Well, I'm not actually continuing my education." I burst his bubble

"Aw really that sucks." he frowned like a child

"You're dropping out?" Mom asked

"No I'm just satisfied with my current level of schooling. My goal right now is landing a position in Alek's company. I was offered a research position but Stanford is 5 hours away so I declined."

I don't wanna be that far away from Tyler. We did long distance for long enough.

"Then why'd you lie about Stanford?" Alessandro crossed his arms

"I didn't. I was considering the research position, but decided against it."

"You're still so young I just don't understand why you're refusing to continue your education. You could go to med school and be a doctor like Matteo. It's so disappointing to see you waste your youth and genius."

"She's still young. If she wants to go back to school she can. Don't pressure her into a degree she doesn't want." Matteo stepped in and I know he's legitimately trying to be nice but it's still annoying

"I don't need your help Matteo." I answered harshly

"Adriana he was trying to defend you. Don't take your anger out on him." Dad scolded

"I honestly wish I accepted a research position at Oxford instead of coming back home." I said to myself but Matteo heard

"Why because I went there and you suddenly hate me?" he asked hurt

"I don't hate you drama queen, but it would've been nice to have gone somewhere you hadn't."

"Did I do something to you? You got here yesterday and now you're acting like I hit you with my car." he yelled

"Fuck off Matteo!" I yelled and ran to my room

I locked my door then fell asleep

I woke up to Tyler FaceTiming me

"Oh she remembered her boyfriend?" he teased

"I didn't forget I just got in trouble."

"Yeah and she's sober too."

"Sorry about that you were probably super tired."

"It's Fine I'm glad you called instead of driving home. So what's the punishment?"

I filled him in on everything including the Matteo situation

"That really sucks, but I get that feeling. My sisters are fucking geniuses and my grades never compared so it was a constant fight. Now Morgan has the same problem cause they're nothing like them. They only cares about volley ball and surfing. They're too much like me they're even gets into fights now too. I think coming out to my parents is stressing her out so they're lashing out."

"Morgan still hasn't told them?" I frowned

"I told them it's not a big deal but then they punched me."

"You can't say that Tyler. Sexuality is important for a lot of people. It may not be a big deal for you but that's because you're straight. You don't have to be insecure or hide it from people. Being into girls and wanting to be they/them is probably something that's been weighing her down for a long time." I scolded my ignorant boyfriend
