The next morning, the kids sat around the breakfast table and talked about their friends and siblings that were in jail.
"Can't we just bail them out?" Pheonix offered.
"Bail them out?" Wyatt asked him.
"Yeah. Like, pay money to get them out."
"And what money do we have that we can use?" Jenny asked. "We didn't bring any."
There was silence for a while. Nobody knew what to do.
Jenny piped up. "Why don't we just go visit them? We could ask the sheriff how long they'll be in jail."
Everyone nodded. They all agreed to go check on their friends and siblings after breakfast. They split up again. Violet, Duncan, and Wyatt went to the jail while Pheonix, Jenny, and Sunny stayed at Hector's house. Hector offered to walk the three to the jail, since he had to work in the village anyways.
Jenny kept Sunny occupied by playing go fish with her. For a toddler, she was doing exceptionally well. Phoenix paced around the room.
"I can't take it! What if they got thrown in jail, too?"
"That's why we're here. in case they do, we can think of something to help get them out." Jenny told him, not looking up from her deck of cards.
Pheonix shook his head. "I don't do well with patience! They're our friends. Three of them are in jail. Aren't you the least bit concerned?"
"Of course I am." Jenny turned to face Pheonix. "But I would never show it in front of the kid."
Pheonix glanced at Sunny, who was grinning at her cards. He sighed. Sunny babbled
"Sunny, you know we can't understand you."
Rolling her eyes, she put her fingers to her mouth.
"Are you hungry?" Jenny asked her.
Sunny shook her head. She walked to the kitchen and opened up Hector's cupboards, looking for something. Jenny and Pheonix followed her. Sunny handed them a box. Jenny and Pheonix looked at it, seeing it was a cake mix.
"You want to bake a cake?" Pheonix asked the toddler. Sunny nodded.
"Why? Is it someone's birthday?" Jenny asked.
Sunny nodded again. "Klaus."
Pheonix and Jenny could understand that. So the trio set to work to bake the cake. Violet, Duncan and Wyatt returned.
"Bad news." Violet started telling the others. "They're in jail for two weeks."
"That's ridiculous!" Pheonix exclaimed. "Olaf could find us by then!"
"Exactly what we were thinking." Duncan said. He noticed the cake. "Hey, what's the cake for?"
"Klaus." Violet answered for him. She slapped her hand against her head. "I can't believe I forgot. It's his birthday tomorrow."
Sunny babbled something. "She wants us to take it to him tomorrow." Jenny told the others, translating.
"You can understand her?" Violet asked Jenny. Jenny nodded.
"I'm starting to."
"I think it's a great idea." Wyatt announced. "They can have food other than bread, and it's something everyone in jail can be happy about."
Everyone agreed. It gave them some happy memory. And something to look forward to.

Meanwhile in jail, Francine, Klaus, and Isadora sat around in the cell they shared. They were very bored. That boredom turned into fear when they saw two people enter the jail. One of which was someone they were hoping they wouldn't see for a long time.
"Olaf." Klaus muttered under his breath.
Sure enough, it was. The other person however, was someone neither of the three prisoners could identify. Olaf and his associate walked upstairs to the chief of police. The kids heard a door slam shut, so it was safe to talk.
"How did he find us?" Francine asked the other two. "Do you think Bree caved?"
"She wouldn't cave." Isadora said, staying loyal to her friend.
"Then how did he find us here?"
"The same way he always does." The girls turned to Klaus. "He followed our clues. Somehow he found us here. Who knows what will happen to us?"
Klaus and Isadora sat next to each other on the bench while Francine paced in the cell. Olaf and his associate had been with the chief of police for a long time. The three were starting to get worried.
It was night now. The three were starting to get tired. Isadora fell asleep with her head resting on Klaus's shoulder. Not wanting to wake her up, he didn't move. Noticing this, Francine smiled.
"You two would be cute together." she remarked.
"What do you mean?" Klaus asked the girl.
"Klaus, don't play dumb. I know you have a massive crush on her."
"Do not!" Klaus quickly denied, panic rising in his voice.
"If you don't, why do you sound scared?" Francine teased. Klaus fell silent. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. Isadora likes you, too."
"Did she tell you that?"
"No. I can just tell." Francine shrugged.
"C-cool." Klaus nodded, his cheeks turning a bit red.
All of a sudden, the door upstairs was swung open and crashed into the wall. This awoke Isadora, and scared Francine and Klaus. Olaf and his associate walked down the stairs, and to the cell. They were dressed in costumes.
"Why, hello there children." Olaf greeted them. Nobody replied back. "I'm back. Did you miss me?"
"Not at all." Francine told the old man.
Olaf rolled his eyes. "I haven't given up on getting your fortunes. By the end of the day in two days, I'll have them."
"How?" Isadora asked.
Olaf grinned. "I have a plan. Oh, and by the way, this is my girlfriend Esmé."
The girl waved. "Hello, orphans."
"We'll leave you to rot in here. Good bye."
Olaf and Esmé walked back upstairs and into the office. Once the kids heard the door close, they began to talk to each other again.
"What happened to the chief of police?" Francine asked worridly.
"If I know Olaf, it's not something good." Klaus answered her.
