They were finally doing it. Seven of the nine remaining people on VFD were finally leaving. Klaus, Duncan, and Quigley set up the boat. Violet, Isadora, Sunny, and Beatrice II checked on Bree.

"Are you sure you're okay with staying back?" Isadora asked for the millionth time.

"I'm sure." Bree told the older girl. "Someone has to stay behind to look after Francine."

Francine had fallen into a state of depression after leaving Hotel Denoument. Bree felt it was her job to look after Francine. What she didn't say was that she couldn't go back on land not knowing where her sister was.

The Baudelaires, Quagmires, and adopted Baudelaire finally sailed away. Bree watched them sail away. She didn't know if she'd ever see them again.

After they left, Bree devoted all her time to helping Francine. Unfortunately, she couldn't save her friend. Francine died a year after the others left the island. Bree spent the next five years alone. Until finally her sister found her again. They stayed together on the island until they were both old and weak. And they were happy that way.

Dear Violet, Klaus, and Sunny,

This is our letter to you. Gustav has finally found peace. Uncle Monty is still discovering new things. Aunt Josephine and Ike are fierce and formidable again. The Quagmires are watching over their children. Jacques and Olivia are together. Larry will always be our waiter. Dewey forgives you...and he dances with Kit every night.

Pheonix says he's sorry for what he did and hopes you can forgive him. Wyatt and Francine are together again...and Francine's doing much better. Jenny watches over Sunny every day.

We are together and we will always be with you.

Sincerely, Beatrice and Bertrand Baudelaire

THE END
