A/N: I totally just almost updated my next chapter of Crown Jules as chapter 6 of this book. People reading this who haven't read Sang's Rebirth and the sequel would have been so fucking lost. Like who is Jules? Who are these characters? Wtf happened. Woops. I realized it before I published the chapter here. 😂
Corey's POV
When I went into my apartment I immediately looked into who was renting Sangrida's apartment since our team owns the building it required no hacking. The name on the lease was Ingrid Christensen who is 23. According to the picture on the ID for Ingrid the person is Sangrida. However, when I then look for Ingrid she doesn't exist outside of this lease. I spent all night and she's not real. I couldn't take this to the Blackbourne Team since some of their members already have doubts about her. I went to Axel's apartment to find Marc already gone but Axel was still here.
"Hey what's up Core?" Axel asked.
"Last night on my way back to my apartment I ran into Sangrida here on our floor. She's the neighbor between our apartments. So I of course checked to see who is leasing the apartment. The person on the lease is Ingrid Christensen and their ID states the same but it's Sangrida's picture. I searched the web for Ingrid Christensen and she doesn't exist. I don't want the other team to know since some of them are already distrust her." Corey said.
"I trust her and that there's a good reason. I'll talk to her." Axel said.
We both went next door and knocked on her door. A few minutes later she opened the door still wearing her clothes from the night before with exhaustion clear on her face.
"Hello boys. It's quite early. How may I help you?" Sangrida asked.
"Is everything ok V?" a timid voice asked from behind Sangrida.
I watched as Sangrida's facial expression changed to one of a caring and warm person who is also worried. She turned away from us to face whoever was behind her.
"Everything's ok. Go back to my guest room, ok?" Sangrida asked.
When she turned back to us her face was back to just pure exhaustion.
"I was hoping to talk to you. Maybe it would be better if you came next door to my place." Axel said.
"Sure." Sangrida replied.
Sang's POV
I followed the boys to Axel's apartment. I'd really prefer to still be in my warm bed sleeping. I yawned as I sat on Axel's sofa. I looked around and his place really did match the man I knew in Spain.
"So what exactly had you knocking on my door so early?" I asked hoping I didn't sound as rude as the question sounded to me.
"I own this building. Your lease is with me. So why is your lease under the name Ingrid Christensen?" Axel asked.
I schooled my face maintaining only the exhausted look.
"We all have pasts. Some of us have people to hide from in those pasts. I wasn't a criminal so it's not law enforcement I'm hiding from. There's a reason I assist victims of abuse. Your twin would understand Corey. I won't disclose my past more than that. Is that all? I have a long day ahead of me and not much sleep to do this long day on." I said.
A/N: I never indicated how long Sang was listening in but you can bet she took stock of every person there which means she saw Brandon and the shadows that are always referenced to be in his eyes. Hence her statement.
"I want you to know I trust you 100% Sunshine. I won't push for more. I hope some day you will trust me enough to tell me. Thank you for sharing what you have." Axel said as he stood up.
