First part of Yoongi's backstory...
****"Honey, come on! You're gonna miss the bus!" The woman calls out to her fourteen year old child, who still refused to get up from bed. She sighed under her breath, going up the stairs for the the fourth time that morning to her son's room. "Darling..." She called out again, now looking at the small boy, sitting up in his bed with a warm blanket wrapped around him.
"I don't wanna go..." He mumbled, trying not to sound too childish.
His mother shook her head and went up to the boy, sitting down next to him. She stroked his soft black hair gently and gave him a weak smile in defeat. It wasn't the first time he had refused to go to school, but it had become a daily tantrum at this point, and she was starting to get worried. At first, she thought it might just be her son hitting his rebellious phase. But she's noticed something wasn't right. Every time he came back from school, he'd start acting distant and cold towards everyone else in the house, isolating himself completely. He'd even skip meals from time to time.
"Is everything okay, baby?" She asked quietly, trying to reach her child.
He didn't say anything, but nodded instead.
"Then why don't you want to go to school? Did something happen?" She asked again, hoping he'd talk to her.
But again, he didn't respond. He just shook his head in response.
"Are your classmates being mean to you, sweety? Do they do mean things to you?" She tried again, her voice much softer, slightly afraid her child was really being bullied.
The boy didn't move this time. He just stared at the floor, looking like almost a statue. The lack of response scared his mother, who rubbed her son's back softly to comfort him the best she could.
"Oh darling..." She whispered, wrapping her son in a tight hug, tugging him close to her warm chest. He still didn't move an inch, letting his mom embrace him completely.
He then heard his mother's soft cries, and his heart dropped. He hated seeing her like that; sad, hopeless, depressed. It brought an unpleasant feeling to his stomach. Because this state that she was in, was how she spent months after dealing with an abusive husband. Thankfully, that bastard was gone for good, but the pain he caused to the family was still very much present. Ever since then, the boy promised himself he'd never let his mother break down like that again and that he'd never bring her unhappiness.
That's why, no matter how many times he's beaten down to a pulp or how much abuse he has to take, he'd never let his mother see the truth. He'd never let her worry again.
"I'm fine, mom." He said lowly, gently pulling away from her as he put on a fake smile to reassure her. I'm fine...
She felt a little more relieved seeing her son smile. Weird. It felt like ages since she's seen that adorable gummy smile. She couldn't remember the last time she saw it.
He finally gave up his tantrum and got off his bed, which seemed to calm his mother, for now. He went to the bathroom to wash his face and get ready for school. Ugh, school. Not something he was looking forward to, honestly. But he couldn't tell his mom about it. He couldn't tell anyone.
He took off his clothes, getting ready to take a shower before leaving, making sure to lock the door. He then glanced at the mirror and winced, disgusted at himself. His hair was a mess, going in all sorts of directors rebelliously and his pale skin and bags under his eyes made him look like a zombie. But obviously, that wasn't the worst part.
No, the worst part were his scars. Cuts and bruises that covered almost all of his bare back and arms, even spreading to his chest. That was what he really didn't want his mother to see. Or anyone for that matter. It wasn't exactly something he could explain without mentioning the whole bullying thing. And again, he didn't want to worry his mother.
